Chris Wilks' car probably got him in trouble early Saturday morning. But it also got him out.

About 2:20 a.m., he was driving his black 1999 Saleen Mustang home in Cedar Hill after a night out with friends. At Clark and Wheatland roads, a Chevy Avalanche pulled alongside. A man inside tried to get his attention, but Mr. Wilks, 25, is used to that.

"I get looks every single day I drive that car," he said.

But this time, offering a compliment isn't what the other motorist had in mind.

I remember seeing this on the news the other night.
It's just a shame those two didn't remove themselves from the gene pool.  :beating:

" After nearly three miles at speeds above 100 mph, the pickup lost control, crashing through a fence and striking a backyard shed at Trees Drive and Middleton Road."

They don't sound smart enough to have removed the governor, I'm betting there's a little exaggeration going on about the speeds.

Can't say much for the smarts of the Mustang driver, chasing someone that shot at you ain't too bright either.

Those kid must  have been driving stolen property and the passenger wanted a mustang to drive.   Just goes to show you how stupid some people are

"I get looks every single day I drive that car," he said.......................end quote

Since when is nearly 2:30 in the morning daytime? Its sound more plausible the Furd driver had been following the Avalanche around for hours trying to get the attention of the driver and the AV driver feared for his life.

Yea right a 425 horsepowered Mustang and the AV caught up. The Mustang Driver apparently forgot these details.

The Avalanche driver apparently mistook the mis-tuned Furd that pulled alongside engine reaving and its backfiring as actual gunplay and the responding shots were simply self defense. The Furd driver turned and chased the fleeing Avalanche and as the car continued to backfire while closing the distance a decision was made to crash the nearly six thousand pound vehicle in order to arouse the attention of the home owner who then called 991. The Avalanche driver and his passenger are currently being held on a $5,ooo,ooo bond. Not for firing back but for violating the local building and landscape codes by removing the fence sections, demolishing the shed as well further violations for starting a bon-fire with-out a permit ordinances.  As the Great Late Paul Harvey might have added " That's the rest of the story" possibly.......................

Somebody was watching "Cars" last night.

Sounds like a story that the Onion would print or maybe the national inguirer with the way is was written.

I was thinking 3 or 4 years ago. Apparently I've made a premature prediction years ahead of schedule.? Paul at the ripe old age of 74 lives happily on. I hope he can forgive me for announcing the actual and inevitable events surrounding the end of "the rest of the Paul Harvey's life story" a little early.. Its equally apparent I share Nostradamus's secret skills on making predictions ....... death and taxes are a sure bet..........

Out with friends and the incident happened after 2:00 AM, since the Avalanche crashed and it's occupants were arrested I have to assume the Saleen Mustang driver was both sober and unarmed when he talked to the cops. Speeds over 100 MPH ? possible just the Saleen Mustang was going that fast trying to catch up once he got behind the Avalanche.

Stupid ? unarmed, chasing 2 guys that had already shot at you to get the license plate # ? He's a 25 year old who has done stunt driving, I remember when I was 25 and invulnerable
