Ok, the SoCal mega meet is coming up, so how about those of us here in AZ that are going start planning in this thread....

Tell us days you plan on leaving for Cali, leave for home, early or late in the day departure, and also lodging plans.

Add anything to this thread that may be of help to plan the Arizona to California Cruise

here are the links to the SoCal Mega Meet

OK - We are in! We will both get off work by noon on Friday,so available to hook up from there, where ever you want to meet.
We may be able to get the day off also - more later.
SoCal has some good lodging links on their thread - the Holiday Inn looks pretty good to us - but we will go with the masses.

Looking forward - keep us posted.

Money permitting, we are going.

I have requested off wed, thur & fri in hopes of turning it into an excuse to use the travel trailer collecting dust in the back yard. Ghost doesn't have his time off finalized yet. But we would like to leave either of those days and drive back on sunday.

My friend Claire are planning on going.. I think....she has some friends we have to visit with also >:D Hopefully we will meet up with you all at some point ;D
Andrea
Avaburado are you going? I owe you money!!!

Has any one made room reservations in SoCal yet?. If so - where?

I am considering the embassy suites that many others are staying at, but open to options, as embassy will cost me over $300 for the durration of stay I am looking at... (leave friday come back monday)

I started this thread to see where the AZ group was thinking of staying to help me choose... LOL

Our final decision on going, which days and if we are taking the travel trailer or staying in a hotel cannot be made this soon.

Everything all depends on when we find a house to move into. We are currently still looking for another one and working on getting our house ready to sell.

We are trying to plan to make the trip but will have to adjust it accordingly.

Cindy now has the website setup for event registration...

Hampton Inn Swts $79.00 a night with pre payment and mention of CAFCNA . Also right next door to the Emb. Swts where alot of members are staying . It will be awesome to see you guys again , I know Fox and I had a blast espeicaly with APPYTUDE at the club !!

So, when are people exactly leaving for the event. I'm thinking about going but since I'm currently conducting military schooling I will not be able to leave to 5pm Friday if I attend. Is there anyone considering this time. I'm also coming from Sierra Vista.....45 min south of Tuscan.

Some of the AZ crew will be heading out friday after work...

Work permitting I am hoping to take off friday and monday.... head out to cali friday morning.... The job I am running may not be over by then so I may end up SOL and leaving after work friday.... but I get off work at 1pm anyway..... >:D

I should be off at 1pm on friday also.

Just my 2 cents. I live very close to this area and the list from the Mega Meet Website has some decent reasonable lodging I suggest you do a little research on your own for the best lodging. There are many many options for this area do to the proximity to the airport.
I found the Irvine Mariott, Basic room for 89.00 per night, this is not only closer, but far more upscale. Also if anyone is interested in camping, the closest camping would be Newport Dunes, although this is more like a K.O.A. it is very nice and CLOSE to the Mega Meet Location. My recomendation if you want to stay here is book now! It fills up very fast.

One more thing! I just want to say I'm looking forward to seeing my brothers and sisters from Az. And to Avaburado (Craig) come on and sign up, it just would'nt be right without you!.
If anyone needs any assistance in finding lodging or anything else feel free to P.M. me at the So. Cal. Site.

Looks like we are going to leave around noon on Friday also. The wife has the day off, and I can pretty much leave when I want.

Has any one made room reservations yet? Where?
Do we want to try to meet and roll togather?

Thanks to the SoCal folk for the help and info also!

Still depending what happens with moving. We are trying for friday to sunday. I have friday off and can leave anytime. We would not be going earlier as originally planned. We have not made any reservations yet. We would stay in a hotel and not take the trailer. We placed an offer on a house this weekend and we are waiting for their response. We will hopefully know for sure if we can make it by mid this month.

I'm going to drive over Sat. morn. early. And since I'll only be there one nite I'll just crash in the Av. Looking forward to seeing the WWII crew again.

The offer paperwork is finalized and accepted on both ends. If all goes well with the appraisal, inspection and loan paperwork, our closing on the new house is set for sept 16th.

We may not be attending this gtg. It is a slim chance that we will still go. We are going to need extra money towards cleaning and repainting the interior of the house prior to moving in. The people that live there are major smokers and we need to "de-smoke" the house. Otherwise the house is in really good condition. It is only 4 years old.

We will keep you updated if anything changes.

You need any help moving? We could get a caravan of avalanches full of all your stuff!

LOL! Thats really not a bad idea..
