BAD Odor

I have only 1200 miles on my new AV and when I turn on the AC unit a bad smelling odor comes through the vents and I don't have a dead animal in there ;D. My wife thinks so too...so much so that she threw-up on two occassions because of the bad smell. Is there something leaking or ???? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
 
Bad odors in the A/C usually occur when the condensate drain hole gets plugged. It causes mold and mildew to build up inside the HVAC. You may also want to change the cabin air filter. Hope this helps. Good Luck. :B:

Update: Dealer installed odor disinfectant spray. No more bad odor
 
I could have used some of that disinfectant spray after I took a few coworkers out to lunch in the Av a few weeks ago. The next time hopped in the Av (almost a week later), it stunk big-time. One of my coworkers left a Mc D's hamburger under the rear seat -- I presume by mistake. Pew! :D:

i had a funny odor this weekend when using the heat. i will be leaving in a few. i will check it again. hopefully it has subsided.
 
it was unclogged and so far its been a week without any odor. Will keep monitoring it.
 
I've got that odor in mine. Where to look for the drain and filter? :-[
 
WURTH makes a product that sprays in vents and such and well it kills the bacteria and gooky stuff and makes the bad smell go away......

SEARCH for it...
 
Bad odor here too. Smells like ammonia. :9: Just started a few weeks ago. Thought maybe a cat crawled under the hood and sprayed. Would love to know where that drain is to check if it's plugged.

I love this site. You can always find the info you need, or someone else will help you figure it out. ;D
 
Drain is rubber thingy on right hand side firewall.....
 
I found the rubber drain. ?It has a ninety degree bend and drips onto the metal drain pan, right? ?It's not plugged up at all, there is a puddle on the ground after it sits parked for awhile. ?Any other ideas on the odor?
 
I have a mildew smell coming out of the Air conditioner vents recently I hate this smell so gross.  need to investigate to see what the h3ll is up with my AC.
 
Best bet is to find the WURTH product..

and follow directions..
it is sprayed in all vents and on evaporator to kill any bacteria & mold present

Also if you ride in your AV alot and "poot" in the seat then sometimes when you first climb in and sit down you can get a "puff" of bad air....or so I have been told >:D
