Hi Avy guys & gals is this a cool web site or what?? (y) I recently went through the trouble of removing ALL the body cladding from my AVY to have it painted. I broke half the clips, and didn't think much of it untill I went to buy new clips and could only find them at the chevy dealer. Problem is the stupid little clips are $3.00 a piece!! :7: Did I mention I need 70 of them!!! So that's why I'm asking for help to locate some cheap aftermarket clips. thanx to anyone that can help!!!

:B:

There is a place on line where they are dirt cheep, almost giving them away........but I don't remember where I saw this. maybe send Dave http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=113;action=viewprofile;user=dsw7311 a PM and ask him. He has done a few of them and may know a good source (y)

This is white storm , as of 1/3/04, I still have not found the infamous clips, wrote to some people but got no response yet. To all of you looking for clips as well, I'll be shure and share the source on this board!!! The GM part # is 1-11518357, so if any of you have any GM connections I could go that route for the right price. untill then :E: thanx again to any help (y)

I found one of the posts I was looking for by http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?board=113;action=viewprofile;user=BW

The line of his post,
Caution: If you want to remove your cladding be aware that the clips break like crazy when you remove the panels and can be huge money to replace. I had to replace over 75 clips and if I had gone with factory clips they would have been over $5.00 ea. I found after market clips at 75 cents each and the guy felt guilty that he couldn't find me a cheaper clip. I can forward the part # if anybody is interested.

While waiting on my AV to come in, in which i am planning to paint the cladding to match the truck when it comes in, i decided to get some extra clips just in case, we deal alot with fastenal at work, and they found the clips for me, i got 30 of them for $32.52, the fastenal part #10966-01676 for those of you that have a fastenal around ya.........

Tried that part number on their web site and got no matches.

I just pulled off all my lower cladding and *only* broke 17 clips :) Hopefully I can keep it under 30

On the other hand, where do I get the two-sided tape?

Also, can someone provide a bit more detail on removing the cladding from the tailgate?

That part number might not be on their website, but a retailer can get them for u. As far as the 2 sided tape, any body shop supply/paint store has it.

Whitestorm....I know this is a strange request but I was wondering if you had a pic of your truck with the cladding removed? Just curious to see what our vehciles would look like Naked! Not that I have any plans to remove my cladding, I was just curious.

Good luck and be sure to share the pics of the finsihed product.

Take Care,

SB

I am also looking for the plastic clips that help keep the cladding on..... any suggestions??

I got all my cladding clips on ebay..took some searching, but they are there..good luck

HI,

Search ebay look up Pageauto1, they sell clips and fasteners. I bought them in 09 when I had the upper molding painted and again in 2012 when I lost my cadding piece due to strong Santa Ana winds. A box of 20 clips for 10.00. Also if you ever need replacement cadding look up gmautoparts.com. Good luck

I say Ebay as well, I just purchased a pack of 15 for $8.?? I think the seller was Clipman1? You can't go wrong. The correct cladding clip has a round rubber seal on the clip.
