My almost 1 year old 03 DGM Z71's cladding is starting to turn chalky looking especially on the cargo cover. What is the BEST product to use...my dealer told me never never use armor oil so I don't want to use something that will mess it up. I know there's alot of posts on this but I don't have much time. Thanks guys.

There is no BEST.....

each product has pros and cons.....

depends on things like time, money, appearance, etc etc

Read about 303 and the tire shine stuff...stickied to top....they seem to be the most popular......

S100 will cure all that ails a AV with cladding. You can find it at any Harley shop. This stuff is great.

Steve
S100 is a product line made by the peeps who make P21S...in fact is the same stuff just new labels.....It is german label but made by different company in states with license to use name......

S100 actually has an awesome Carnuaba wax.....but do not WAX the CLADDING....as muffman knows it is a PIA to remove from cladding......

I`ve found two products that work pretty good for me. They are Trim Shine & Vinylex. Others work just as well but I think its the way you put it on. I spray it onto a micro fiber cloth and then rub it on. Don`t spray to much because any product will run. Let it dry and you might have to wipe some places again. Good Luck!!

Vinyles is like 303 ...

Trim shine is a bit like the tire shine products,......

Well I guess I'm a glutton for punishment when it comes to car care products. I like to try everything, then make a decision based upon their preformance. Right now as far as the cladding care goes. #1 GM Cladding Cleaner Kit. PN 89020818. About $20 from the dealer. The dealer needs to buy a case of 5 or 6 in order to get this product delivered to him, but if the dealer is right with you, he will sell you one. I'm sure after the dealer sees how great this product works, he will start using it to recon used car flares, black trim, cladding, ect. #2- 303. I have used this product for years, and sell it in my store. Great looks, durability pretty good. k#3. All the tire coatings look good too, however they are a bit greasy, and eventually wear off also. Probably the worst-Armor all and Armordillo. Tried them all on my 02, and GM's is still the best, especially in the snow, rain, and mud of Pa.

I have a can of Trim Shine in front of me. It says for Vinyl, Plastic, Rubber also protects trim from UV sunlite. I don`t know anyone who would use this on there tires. But I bet there`s somebody :3:

so far i have used Stoner's Trim Shine... did not like how it attracted "lot's" of dust, or over spray, or streaking. then i tried Mother's Back-to-Black... a little more time consuming to apply, had to use liberally, also streaked when wet. then the GM Cleaner Kit... i liked the cleaner ;D. it cleaned everything so easily , and completely. the conditioner was easy to apply, looked very rich, but did run. after about the third rain it stopped streaking. still looks real good. noticable presence of conditoner still on panels. :D
