Mardi Gras here in Lafayette, Service Chevrolet does it again.
40 Avalanches sent in from GM to pull the floats in the parade. You talk about a site.
2 Pewter and 1 white (without body armor).
37 others mixed Z71's, Z66's and 4x4's.
Will get some shots on Tuesday, Main day for Parades around here and i will be parked up town and will be able to get up in the air and take some pictures of the mighty AV's as they come down the parade route pulling the floats and beads flying. Maybe a few spectator shots to boot >:D
Looks like there will be a big sale starting Wednsday after the parades are over. That is when i bought mine with 22 miles on the odometer and got 7100.00 off the sticker price.
Looks like GM taking full advantage of the Mardi Gras crowd to get some heavy advertising done.
zeeya, will have to hold back on the bevarages so shots will not be to shaky..........
NO YELLOW AV IN THE PARADE ???
 
So is the parade in Lafayette or is it in New Orleans?? I was watching TV and they are brodcasting the parade in New Orleans and I wondered if that is were the AV's are going to be

The main party is in New orleans, But there are parades all over Louisiana. All parades are great fun. You should try to make it down here for a MardiGras. It nothing like you ever done. Beads, babes and beer. It don't get much better
 
That's some cool Zeeya...wish i could make it up to Lafayette for that. Will be heading to West Bank (Gretna) this year.

so we will have pics today right right (AvaLance jumps up am down) I can't wait to see pics and see pics of new AV's I want to make it to mardi gras some day well there is allways next year
 
I was talking to StobinAvalanche tonight and he thinks we should do an Avalanche cruise to Mardi Gras some time the only thing stoping me is it would take me 5 days to get there hehe so how was the Mardi Gras parade

yup, got that right! i just got back from new orleans.... first time, wish i could of stayed longer, but i guess school is more inprotant than beads, babes and beer. :rolleyes:

i tell you it would of been a site to see all the the avs pulling the floats...

Hey Lance, sorry took so long, was putting a new central heat in house today and had to watch those guys.
Was going to bring pics to work and put on my picture trails account since home computer still on dial up, but i will throw some of em out there for you to see.
Parade was not all that great this year, still had a good time though, after so many gulps everythings seems like fun........till after
I'll post a few towing the floats and notice the magnetic decal on the doors, i'll show you a close up of one of em

Have you ever seen so many people bowing to an AV.
The crowd was horrendous as you could see. I was able to get a few shots where you could actually see the AV

THE PARADE ROUTE WAS 5 MILES LONG AND MOST OF THE PLACES WERE MORE CROWDED THAN THIS.

WISH I COULD OF GOT THERE QUICKER FOR THIS ONE. IT'S ALL MEN DRESSED UP LIKE WOMEN. HECK I HAD TO GET ON MY HANDS AND KNEES AND CRAWL UP TO THE RAIL, THEY WERE ALMOST GONE BY THE TIME I FOUGHT MY WAY UP THERE

AV'S cruising through Lafayette. The parade did not even have 40 floats, kind of a let down. I wanted to get a few pictures of the ones without the cladding.....sorry.

This was the ones left at the end of the parade that did not have anything to pull.........Heck we could of tagged along on the back end.......
