SEE POST 12, WE HAVE MOVED ON TO OTHER TOYS FOR THE CHILDREN!?

THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT, we exceeded our goal of 15 bikes!!

We are now one bike over what The Children's Homes society ask for, do you think that we should change our efforts and try to get a few of the other items that were on the Target Gift Registry Link?

Here are my thoughts but fell free to buy ANYTHING that you wish for the kids, you remember at Christmas how special the SURPRISES were, don;t you? Some of us can take a look at that Target Gift Registry Link and then look at The Wal-Mart Toy Page and compare items & prices. I know with the bikes we got a much better value at Wal-Mart. Follow the instructions below and there will be NO SHIPPING CHARGE is you choose SITE TO STORE at the Wal-Mart site![/b]

I talked to Todd in the hospital, he says he is doing better. I then called Peggy at the Rapid City Wal-Mart. Together we have worked out the details of how to buy the bikes online and pick them up in Rapid City.

First you would go to BIKE PAGE. Next pick what bike that you want to buy and put it in the cart.? Next you will have a choice to ship "SITE TO STORE" select it. You will need it shipped to:

Wal-Mart Supercenter #1604
1200 Lacrosse
Rapid City, SD 57701

I think that you can just put in the zipcode and then pick that store......You may need to create an account if you have never bought online at Wal=-Mart, but it is a quick easy process.

Next screen there is an option to ADD OR EDIT the pick up person. Click that button and add TODD BULLIS and his email: azblueav@cox.net

I saved a couple of other screen shots if you need help....

Lets get these kids NEW BIKES!! It would be a good idea to buy a few bike helmets also.......I will start a list so we can get a variety of bikes just because I LOVE THOSE LISTS!

? ? 1. Z66 Butch & Jomomma (Region III) 1 16" Girls PURPLE BIKE with training wheels.
? ? 2. Hugz & (Region II )4 bikes--2 20" Boys & 2- 20" girls + 2 helmets (WAY TO GO)!!
? ? 3. Sirshopalot (Region III) 2 Bikes & 2 helmets!!
? ? 4. Shels Land? (Region III) 1 Bike
? ? 5. Region V 2 Bikes
? ? 6. MichiganSilver03 (Region III) 2 more Bikes!
? ? 7. johnv656 (Region III) 1 Bike
? ? 8. johnv656 (Region V) 1 Bike
? ? 9. IB Mike Region V) 1 Girls Bike & 1 Boys Bike!

16 BIKES! WOW, jomomma was right, she knew if we found a easy way and a better price that you guys and gals would step up and get these kids their bikes! Thanks all, I doubt that they would turn down extra bikes but feel free to shop at Wal-Mart for other items that they have requested OR pick out a few SURPRISES!

We may want to pick these up a day or two early so we can put them together or we can hang around and help the kids put them together at the Christmas in July!

I want to thank jomomma for coming up with this idea, I have been very busy and just lost my mom 2 days ago. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers in our time of need.

Here is a picture of the bike that we bought, they have bikes from $34.99 to as high as you want to spend!

Thanks, Butch

Great :0: Jomomma  (y)

I hate to say it, but I'll bet they could alway use bikes.  We will try to play Santa this Friday, it's payday & It's the least we can do because we can't go to Nationals.

Thanks Butch!

 Avalanche People!

How awesome!!! That is way cool that not only did all of us meet their goal of 15 bikes, we passed it!!

And can I just say Region III ROCKS!!!  :D

But EVERYONE is truly AWESOME!!!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Jomomma for finding a more affordable way to put a smile on these kids faces! They are gonna love it!

Butch I'll take a look tommorrow, but anything I can do I will.

All I can say is,"I am a mother and a grandmother."I can still remember one time our oldest son thought he had is bike taking and he was heart broken .But his dad and a friend had took the bike and redone. because his dad was lay ed off from work and our son ask for a new bike .I can remember how his eyes lite up on Christmas morning when he see his new(old ) bike. our kids are lucky they have their parents these kids don't .(For reason we don't know.)
So Thanks for making this happen for them.

Wow Awesome!

We were intending to purchase 2 bikes, but since the goal has been met, I'm thinking I should choose some other goodies from the gift registry?

That is so cool that we've passed up the goal of 15 in such a short time!!  :woohoo:

Not sure how they did the wish list at Target; did they have each kid pick one thing? If so, there will be a lot of disapointed kids who wanted some of the higher-dollar items. I'm sure there are some suitable substitutes out there somewhere for much less, so maybe folks can get those items instead of piling on with more bikes?

If you find something you like check out The Wal-Mart Toy Page, might get it there with no shipping.

Some of the kids likely already have a bike. I was going to go the bike route too. What you wish for isn't always what you need or what you appreciate most later. I'm thinking now,... wait I have an idea and not telling anyone.

I am sure they would love anything they get.

OK, because the BIKE DRIVE was SO successful? I have decided to post a list of items from THE TARGET GIFT REGISTRY that still are needed and or wanted by the kids.

Because Target is charging shipping to the store SOME OF US ARE SHOPPING AT WAL-MART, they are offering FREE site to store shipping. Feel free to "cross shop", that is look on the Target Gift Registry then see if you can find that item on the Wal-Mart site and compare prices.

Please follow the instructions in the first post in this thread to get your items shipped to the correct story and have the correct person listed as a pick-up person!

We may not be able to find the EXACT toy at Wal-Mart but if a kid wants a RC race car or turck almost any of them will make them happy. There are several radios wanted so most any brand will work ect.

If you will post or PM me what you ordered I will check them off of this list and we will pick them up in Rapid City! I will get a lot of pictures of the gifts and the children receiving them (MANY SMILES) These kids will be Avalanche fans for life!!

Thanks Butch & Joan

I just found that you can "copy" one of the toys from the above list (do not include the item number) then click the Wal-Mart link and "paste" it into the Wal-Mart search, it is a easy way to find the toy that you want to buy.

Shopolots will do some shopping on payday.

I challenge every member to do the same so we can knock this list out for these kids.

Let's make it a CAFCNA Christmas they will remember!

Thanks for running with this.. You all are fantastic!!

Todd

I have a Problem just got a Email from Walmart my bikes shipping has been delay I'm on the phone now with them, well here is there story they are going escalate to see if they can get it there on time but won't know till Wednesday

They gave me the option to cancel it, but I want to wait till wednesday
sorry about this

I received notice that part of order #2677230543287 is ready for pick up. The items will be available for the next 21 days.

Todd

FYI Todd, I got the same message on the girls bike and girls helmet.

"We apologize for the delay and are working with our
suppliers to fill your order as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide a
revised delivery date for your order.

We will continue to attempt to ship this order, however,
you may cancel the order at any time up until the date the
item(s) are shipped."

I know there was a huge effort to get this done but the list shows that members have committed to purchase 16 bikes plus the Target registry shows 3 more bikes, so if you had to cancel some we would still have more than the 15 bikes on the wish list.  (y)

I got my notice also...Order Number: 2677230477229 is ready! Todd, I assume that you are printing and bringing all Wal-mart confirmations that you receive.

Butch

You have assumed correctly.. ;)
