It sure does! I don't know if I'm going to do it, but I'm sure thinking about it. Either way, I'd love to see the details.

The way you're going, I'll bet they can do an entire issue on your truck alone!

Erick, are you listening? ???

Ok, now we need the verbal to go along with the step-by-step pictures. I assume it's something to the effect of.

  • Remove front facia (shown how in another thread).
  • Remove stock Grill (details on how).
  • Get assorted set of corner brackets and mounting bolts.
  • Paint mounting hardware black so it doesn't show through grill.
  • Mount hardware for upper and lower portions of grill.
  • Use two extra long screws (somewhere) to replace stock pins which activate airbag maybe?
  • Mount facia back on truck, voila! You're done.

And as a side benefit, it looks like the grill sits deep enough into the facia that you can still use the hood release latch without having to have midget fingers. Is that true?

Nice Pics BigRed!!!!!!!!!!! I may undergo this over the summer. I was wanting to when I put mine in, but said what the heck and just put it on top.

yup, pretty much just remove the plastic grille, powder coat the parts(pre cut) i'll list in a bit. messure, drill, an mount. then mount billet grille to the brackets and walla done. it's easy.... sept i'm still trying to find a local point(A spot) to tell you guys where to start your measurements from.

as for the long screws... those come wth the stull grill kit... i'm showing how you cut those down in size... and use them(save parts) as your main screw. and the grille is flush with the back of the facia... it's as deep as you can go. it's the same depth as the stock mesh grille.

give me a little more time and i'll have the part numbers and how, and where to cut an drill. thanks

Good one, Red. I have been waiting till spring/summer before I get a Billet grille, and that looks so much better.

i thought i was satisfied with my grill BigRed. after seeing your grill i had second thoughts. i am not sure if i want to paint the grill; although it looks real sharp. i do however like the clean look of the non-weave application. thanx for the ideas.
one question for you... do i go with the silver brackets or the black ones? i printed both out to have an idea what to look for when i am ready to get them. i guess all i need now are the measurements.

I think he said that he had the brackets powder coated. I'm curious on how that was done and how much it cost too.

Hey Big Red,

I plan on painting my cross bar green tto match my truck. I'm only hoping that it looks as good as yours. My billet grill could have mounted very easily had i removed the stock mesh one. I would have had to cut it out and leave the oval frame in place. You have a sweet truck here.

Good Job!!

what if i were to rivet the grill in place? seems like it would leave a cleaner look when the hood is opened. but still use BigRed's other mounting methods.
hey BigRed, how about those measurements buddy. i almost did this the other day. decided to wait before i made a cut or hole i would regret. thanx.

:8: I'm dyin' here. I like how some of this stuff looks, but there's no way that I can do it with those stupid little bottles of touch-up paint. When is Duplicolor going to release their Arrival Blue ??????????????????

Check what out Punisher?

Cagal has a grille that has been modified without her knowledge. now she can't mount her billet grille the way it was intended to be. so, i thought she could remove the factory mesh, or weave, the rest of the way, and mount it like BigRed did on his AV.
