Billet Grille

Looking for some help finding a billet grill. ?I love the way Goo929's looks. ?Looking for polished chrome. ?Which ones bolt on vs. cut-out mounting? ?Any pictures and websites or dealers would be of great help also. ?Thanks in advance.

Hey Dunkeroo2,

Just got my billet grill today. It's the polished chrome style and it bolts on directly on top of the existing grille. It attaches by using those type of screw and v-shaped nuts, that contract and expand, that you might normally use on dry wall in your house. Know what I'm talking about? Sorry, I don't know what the techy term is.

Anyway, as you tighten the screw, the v-shaped nut expands until it is tight against the existing grill. Took less than 10-mins to install! (it didn't come with instructions).

It's made by Carriage. Not sure if they have a website. I got it from a local shop. The number for Carriage Works is (816) 966-0133.

See my signature hyperlink for some pix.

Dunkeroo2,

Mine is by Stull Industries ... Polished Billet Grille 5329-P.

A local Motorsports shop ordered for me for $146.95. ?I saw that their invoice price was $121.95. ?Best price online I've seen is $149 at http://www.pickupspecialties.com ... worst is $181.95 at http://www.autostyles.com ... it does bolt over too ... Stull's 21 footnote doesn't apply to this new model.

Love it and gets lots of compliments. ?Goes perfect with the Trenz bowtie, Epic "Rhine" chrome wheels, AMP Research billet fuel door, etc ... ?;D

Hey RoarinRow
Thanks for the reply and the photo link. I too have a white AV and yours is the first one I have seen photos of to compare with what my AV is crying for me to do to it. I love the look. Now to the phone to order... >:D

Dunkeroo2,

If you decide to go with a chrome bowtie get the Trenz. ?It has a model made specifically for the AV. ?If you go with the other "billet" brand (which I had one shop try to sell me) you will get gaps around it (image below). ?What they give you is a model made for a Silverado. ?

Hey goo;

You responded while I was responding also. ?Now I am totally perplexed. ?Two grills different companies. ?They look the same...mount the same...I guess price is the deciding factor. ?Thanks for your response. ?

I intend to get the polished Trenz bowtie (#1958-C1P)is this the one your talking about? Was watching one on ebay, but it seems headed for around retail price. So maybe I will just by it retail.

I'll give you hint. ?I have seen both in person - before I decided ... but both are very nice? ;)

That is right. ?I just verified with my local shop here. I paid $40.99 here. ?Hope I didn't overpay too much. ?I was in a hurry to shoot some photos that night ?;D

Hi Dunkeroo2,

Thanks, it's been a labor of love since I discovered this site. Don't know if that's a good thing. I'm sure my fiancee will say that it's not.

Just a comment: I got to see Goo's grill and bowtie the other day and I really liked em. I think he's picked the right brands on both. Both seemed substantial and well made. ?JMHO

Goo,

What shop in S.A. did you get your Trenz bowtie? I'm having a heck of a time finding one <$80.

I haven't found an online source for the correct part 1958-C1P either.

I got mine for $40.99. ?I don't know if that is their normal price but ask for it. ?Tell James that Pete at the Avalanche club sent you ?;D

Trenz Bowtie - 1958-C1P

If you are not in the San Antonio area, I did find it online at Demand Autosports for $37.95 plus shipping.

Thanks for the info.

Got the billet grille coming and the chrome bowtie is perfect for that.

Next thing is the trip computer for $300 total John's been talking about on another thread.

Goo,

Is your grille a Carriage Works Grille?

Nope, it is the one by Stull Industries. ?Check out my POST on page 1 of this topic for details and a picture.

Wow, nice thread on Grilles and Bowties, Both of mine are TRENZ. remeber they make more than one style for the Avalanche so get the style you want.

I have deal with many manufacturers so heres another good one for Billet grilles, just so you have more options

Goo, thanks for the info!

I looked at the links you listed and you said that Stulls' footnote 21 doesn't apply to the new grille. So it is strictly bolt-on..bolt-over then?

Yes.

Called truckaddons and the stull grille is available for the Av...$152  He said 01 AV...sure its a typo. I asked why EVERYTHING else is $120 except the AV...not much of a response. May call back for a different salesperson. The front end of the AV needs something...I think this with the Trenz bowtie would do the trick...may be the bug sheild.

That does so kinda funny.....you are right, EVERYTHING else is $120.00. Maybe they think being an Avalanche owner.....we are made of money ???
