Ok, there seems to be some interest in getting a GTG going for the Biltmore house and surrounding areas.

I want to gauge the interest in A) a fall (mid Nov) GTG and/or B) a spring (aprilish) GTG.

As we are coming up quickly on the mid November time frame, if we did one then, it would not be anything close to the same level of goodies, raffles (if anything) as the ECRM or STI GTG however it would be very very cool since its Xmas time at the Biltmore house. If you haven't experienced this, make sure you do at least once in your life, its absolutely spectacular! (y)

There is plenty of way cool things to do there during the Xmas season that are only available then. At the same time, there are things up there in the spring time that are also very cool to see/do (festivals, jazz concerts, gardens in bloom).

So what I would ask is this. Please answer the survey for mid Nov. or April 04 or both, then post what your interest is. If we are going to do something in Nov. we need a very accurate count asap to call hotels, arrange tours, etc. If the group decides on the Spring time GTG, we also need to start planning that event now, so please let us know if you are interested.

Thanks
Brian

Me thinks you are thinkin about the Greenbriar hotel in West Va ;) for two reasons, the hotel on the Biltmore estate is brand new and the home is a private residence.

But seriously, you are thinking about the Greenbriar hotel, and yes that would be way cool to get in and see (y)

Sounds like maybe we need to do that then....I have to break the new truck in sometime (y) >:D (y)

With a little Bambino on the way VERY soon, I have to vote Spring.
I would also LOVE to do an OBX trip, but that too will have to wait.
:cautious:

I'll put my name in the hat as well.

Zuk where are the pics of your new ride. You know you can't hold out on us!!

Voted for Spring - but would really like to see an OBX trip, mainly b/c we went to Biltmore last summer. Not sure about timing though - plan on going to AV-MIXR which is near spring as well. So many GTG's, so little vacation time :p

Voted for Spring '04. I think if we have it this Nov, may not be enough time to plan a lot. If it is next Spring, maybe we can get a few more AVs there. I think with the Grandstrand in June, April will be perfect for the Biltmore.

Spring would be nice.
I am in anytime for OBX. The North end survived the hurricane pretty well.

So I guess you didn't go for a Dodge Hemi??? Get yours fixed instead??? What was it that broke???

Was just watching the Yankee Workshop and they were at the Biltmore looking at furniture to build.
This Biltmore was owned by the Vandebelt Family is this the same place

Yep, thats the same one....

Off topic but I watch that show too and have you ever noticed they never show Norm screwing something up. I'd just once like to see him really mess something up and throw stuff around the workshop, you know make it more like real life :) :2: :)

Yah I'm still with the AV, just like it too darn much. Had to have both rear axel seals replaced (one at a time, it is apparently too much to ask to have a tech look at the other side). 5 days at the GM Doctor. I will almost be more happy when the warranty runs out and I can do the work myself (course then I have to pay for parts)
