Body Kits For Avalanches

GUEST
Hey Avalanche Owners!

As an Avalanche owner myself, I was wondering if anybody on this site is interested in restyling their Avalanche with a new look. What I mean by "new look", is to replace all the lower plastic cladding with a slightly different look. Which will make your Avalanche have it's own custom character, other than the standard stock appearance.

I have been in the Automotive Restyling business for almost a decade now, and I have the capabilities to produce a few body restyling kits for the Avalanche that you can mix and match to your liking. So, what I am doing here is seeing what kind of market there is for a kit in this nature, and see what your thoughts are on this matter. I am asking all of you that read this post to give me your input for this journey as I am wanting you my fellow Avalanche owners to come along with me, as we raise the bar for our vehicles one more time... this time on the custom end of things!

You can email me direct at DK3DMax@msn.com

I already have some prototypes made, and I will have them on my truck here shortly. I will be sure to post them on the board as soon as the kit is complete. I will also have some drawings that I will be able to post once they get the legal end of it cleared for public viewing.

I would definately like to work with my fellow Avalanche owners with their comments and possible designs. If any of you have already had this idea cross your mind... hopefully we can turn it into a reality!

Lets see what we can come up with!!! :0:

Best Regards,

I think we all would take a look.

I know I would.

Happy modding

There are a number of us who are running larger, wider tires - it would be nice to have a flair option, front and back, that would provide coverage, protection and a little style - along with keeping us legal in some of the more "anal" states.

Dennis:

There has been a lot of previous discussion about getting someone to produce a wheel flare that matches the existing cladding, one that follows the curve in the sheet metal of the fenders. I think there would be a lot of takers if you would produce this product! How about it everyone?

I'll say "ditto" to what gandolphxx said above. Another thing I would suggest is just simply adding cladding over the wheel wells. I'm not talking about the strip on the front wheels of the 2500 - I mean completing the cladding look, curving up over the fender and then back down to the body. I know that some body shops have done this through paint and products line Line-X - it would look sharp.

I know another thing that I would jump on in a heart beat. Simply the same cladding that is avaiable today by design - but tan in color. And I don't mean tan on the surface I mean made out of tan material. That would look so sharp on my Indigo Blue Avalanche. ;D

Another thing that I would suggest if you made a styling kit is a lot of work on the front bumper. First, I would add additional brackets that hook to the frame to make it more durable off-road. Second I would add some kind of opening or have the option of one to make mounting a winch much easier. Right now it's next to impossible to get a winch on the front of an Avalanche and the winch guys don't want to really work on the problem. :6:

G-x and Chief covered much of what I would like to see from an after market cladding product.

Something that would close the gap between the tire and the wheel well but I?d like it to remain square as the AV has made them fashionable. Some fares down by the wheel would be nice.

While Chief would like tan; I?d like to match my victory red with cladding that the plastic is dyed, not painted so it would be durable. The front cladding could use some styling changes to be more aggressive like the clip is.

I'm with you on this one. I'd rather have had tan cladding on my black Av, than gray cladding.

the only thing i would be interested in would be a nice clean fiberglass piece to replace the tailgate, spoiler and handle surrounding, lower cladding and raised letering. something smooth and flush. no lettering, that has a nice curve right at the top to match the side storage bin's curve. just a big tailgate replace ment skin in fiberglass. ?yeah... that would be the only thing left i would need to complete my custom ride. ?

oh oh, i know a nice fiberglass hood design would be good. something like the apc carbon fiber hoods with the reverse drop snouts. yeah that would be nice.

I'm all for modding, and adding personal touches and preferences to make you AV unique. It's kind of an extension of your personality. However, unless you plan on keeping your vehicle for a long time, extensive customizing usually means less trade in value. Something to keep in mind while comtemplating the next mod.

Ok

In my search for advertising for the national meet. I called and talked to the owner of this company. They make custom cladding for our Avalanche. Check out the photos. You will see the cladding over the front and rear wheels. They even have a new rear bumper.

One word of caution. I am trying to get these people to advertise in our national meet book, So be nice when you call or request info.

you do know my truck will be at the nationals... umm i can talk with larry and see if they would want me to hold a booth open, with my truck on display. info sheets, handouts... what all is involved? or needed? what days would the truck need to be there... i do want to see some of the sites. but i'm willing to help out.

I'm not a big fan of painted cladding, mainly because I go off-roading. However for a slammed steet Avalanche this ride is SWEET!

Click me to see Avalanche

I see on their site they do over the fender cladding, although not EXACTLY what I think we're all looking for. I'm not sure how the fiberglass finish would go with the plastic.

However if they did it and it looked right - DONE. I'm in without even thinking. (y)

hey Chief,

that would be larry's custom, house of kolor, pearl tangerine, and custom flame job, caddy converted, chrome ridin', decked out, truck. it's awesome!

btw larry is a member of our site.

my truck is next to have it's pictures put up. >:D

yes... even more customized than that. >:D

what about a flare you can position between wheel wells so it takes away some space, if you have put 20's on and dont wanna lower it...my rear has a little bit more showing than i like..hope this makes sense...

That's why I've been trying to find fender skirts, or someone who would make them. No luck so far.
