Body Lift

Has anyone added a body lift or thought about it? I checked into a suspension lift, but that is a bit more cash then what I would like to spend.

I believe it was user "bradyb" that had a body lift done to his AV. You might try doing a search for bodylift in the forum and see what shows up.

I have a 3" body lift and reattached my tow hooks. It wasn't too hard. I took a water based marker (crayola) and marked with a ruler where I needed to cut. Cut the cladding with a recipricating saw staying just inside the lines. Then I used a file to go to the lines and finished off with some sandpaper. I was surpised that it looked as good as it does for doing it myself. My wife even liked it (and she thinks i screw up everything, just ask her). Here is the pic.

Speeder,
Was there any changes to the back of the truck because of the body lift?

The only change was a piece of 3" steel angle block used as the spacer above the hitch. The 4x4 shop put thier logo on it in red to match the truck. I did learn that if you change the exhaust you should do it after the lift at a muffler shop. They can change the hangers to keep the tailpipe up close to the body (not hanging down 3") Here is a pic

Saw a pic at the Perf Acc Website.

BTW I have had a body lift on my 99 Silverado and the thing has been flawless.

A big advantage of the lift on the Av is that the bumpers and cladding come down lower to cover any exposed parts.(Especially tow hooks)

Put the nerf bars on it and you're set for $300.
