I just got home from a long (5 days) weekend in the great outdoors and I promissed an update to the conditions up at Bowman Lake. The roads are clear of snow to the lake and to many of the surrounding lakes and streams. The daytime tempratures were t-shirt and shorts  with typical chilly mornings and evenings . Being a holiday weekend there were a ton of people up there but from what I understand it isn't too bad on non-holiday weekends. If anyone is interested in some thing like this (maybe for July) let me know. I have some pics from a disposable that I can have put onto a disc to give an idea of the scenery. ( sorry, I didn't take the AV so the foreground have the W----'s and the L---------r in them but you'll get the idea. ) Let me know if I should pollute the site with non-bowtie vehicles.

Hey Paul, sounds like a great idea for July. Can't wait to see some of your pix.

Sorry for no pics.... my buddy's got them in Santa Rosa and I don't see me getting them any time soon. :6:

I know Independence Day weekend is out for us as we are going to be in the happnin town of Willits, Ca. We got any members up that way??

Is it the lack of pics or is there no intrest in a July camping trip? :C:

Janet and I are going at some point in July either the weekend of the 17th or the 24th. Even if it isn't our official GTG for July anyone that wants to come is more than welcome. Let us know :B:

I just found out I have to wrk on the 17th & 18th....looks like it's the 24th

Sorry, we made reservations last year to go to Yosemite. We'll be there from July 16-July 18th. Have fun at Bowman Lake!

i'm going to be back up in tahoe from 7/15-7/30, but thanks for the invite. you 2 have fun

We'd love to go camping with you but, we just made plans to go to Las Vegas and maybe meet up with some of those AV owners. It's amazing so many AVs can get together when they do. They love to drive their vehicles and are always going somewhere.

Paul and Janet....... We would love to go! :) I am thru teaching summer school that week.... What a great way to celebrate!!! :D You have our phone number.... give us a call with the details.

Riichard and Dianalynn

I'm goung to shoot for a short day on Friday the 23rd and head up after work. I've taken quite a few days off recently so taking the whole day will most likely not happen. I will know more as that week unfolds and work load becomes more appearant. regardless of the time, it will be Friday after work. I'll keep you posted

the road into the lake
you can't tell in the picture but this is a thirty to fourty foot drop straight down off the road to the water without much room to pass oncoming vehicles

Yeah it was a great place although I dont think there is enough allergy pills in the world for your av the Row . would take a pic of my truck but dont have the camera today .... trust me .......... DIRTY DUSTY !!!

Not a Summit white friendly enviorment !!!!

Even though I live in a tropical paradise, these pics make me want to move to Norcal. Which is worse? Hurricane's or earthquakes? Which is better? Boating on the smooth Atlantic or hiking in the mountains? The chance of my ole lady sleeping in a tent is pretty slim though so I'ld have to count on my 8 y.o. boy. Great pics.
