Brake Line Rubbing

Hey Guys, just a heads up... My 02 developed a really bad creaking noise this weekend (which turned out to be the nerf bars I had installed saturday, but that's another story), anyways, as I was crawling around under the beast I noticed that the brake line to the right rear wheel was rubbing against one of the rods holding up the torsion bar. It rubbed quite a bit, to the point where it had rubbed throught the paint of the torsion bar hanger. The brake line itself is held in place by a hanging rod, but the eye in the rod was to big and allowed too much travel.... hence the rubbing. Any ideas on a remedy?

I had the same problem with mine.....I looked and realized that the brake lines were rubbing pretty badly....same as you it had worn the away.....I simply took it to the dealership and had them adjust it....which they did....now they are no longer a problem....

i had a '95 Tahoe that had this problem. i lowered it, and the new shocks were a larger bore/diameter. this shock rubbed through the brakeline comletely. i happened to notice this before i was about to go on a trip to Baltimore from Virginia. i had a puddle of brake fliud under the truck. i will definitely check this out.

I have the same problem right now. ?Mine is due to the increase in height brought on by the lift kit. ?

I think I am going to try and cut a aluminum can up and roll the aluminum around the brake line and then zip tie it tight . ?That should help emilinate the rubbing on the brake line itself.

UPDATE: After taking a closer look at mine it is the emergency brake line. SO there is a brake cable running through the pipe and that is the pipe that is rubbing. So I just moved the braket about an inch to let the cable hang down a little further.
