I hate to go buy another weak, boring bulb to replace this one on my license plate. Has anybody done any mods related to these lights?

maybe brighter, better location, anything. The troopers aren't too keen on different color lights back there.

thanks

There is a little different mod you can do. The license plate bolts you can get that have a LED in the middle of the bolt, I would suggest getting white as I got a ticket for having UV on my plate. In FL you can't have anything but white. It's a simple mod 2 wires pos and neg. Just tap into the same wire's that run your BORING lights. Word of advice, if you do this, screw the bolts all the way in before connecting the wires. Any questions just ask.

Not that it is completely relevant.... But

I have a Snakeeyes back-up camera installed and notice that the license plate lights really negatively effect my ability to get a goor rear view at night. I was thinking of doing the back-up floodlight mod (posted in an earlier thread) off the lower section of the cladding over the cab and then using a relay that will turn off the license plate lights when I put the truck in reverse. In order to get the flood lights to work in reverse as well as having them switched to a switch in the cab I will need a total of 3 relays (one should come in the floodlight kit). If I ever get around to this, I will post pictures.

A little off the topic, but it is a mod related to the license plate bulbs.

I got some cheap 194's off of e-bay that matched the white/blueness of the silver stars up front, didn't go overboard, they are justlicense plate lights ;)
