Can someone provide some info as to how difficult it is to connect this adapter to my amp? I have done stereo installs in other vehicles. I have an '03 with Bose and want to add a powered sub (or 2) to improve the bass. I know the amp is somewhere in front of the console, I just need to know the best way to access it. Thanks in advance. :)

The C2A-GM24 is the WRONG part for the Avalanche! Regardless of whether you have the BOSE or not...the Avalanche needs PAC part number AOEM-GM24 for adding amplifiers to the existing system. The part is plug and plug and works incredible! Go here:

http://www.pac-audio.com/oem1kits/aoemresults.cfm?aoemSearch=GM&Submit=Search+for+AOEM-1+kits

You can call Mike from HP Distributing @ (800) 375-2927 to order if you can't find it locally.

Hope that helps!

No problem...that's what I'm here for. ;D The reason the C2A-GM24 is more expensive is because it has software inside that actually communicates with the factory data-bus. This is not necessary on the Avalanche.

Enjoy!

How cool of a part.

I was thinking of getting a all-in-one sub (KenWood Woox), but if this thing lets me get a REAL amp / sub (I have a friend with a soudnstream amp and Boston sub sitting doing nothing = good $$), I would do this.

I WANT to keep my OEM HU because I like my XM and Onstar AND 6-Disc changer.

So, would this allow either 4ohm or 2 ohm? I have no idea what I am talking about as I am new to this whole sound moding, just heard these keywords in the threads alot.

Thanks.

BTW I found it super cheap

The speaker load does not have anything to do with the the PAC part...your new amp will have to handle those duties.

Enjoy the AOEM-GM24 ;D

BTW, the amp is at the back of the console. If you lift up the rear, you can see the connectors. The sub is at the front.

I received a WOOX for Christmas and after reading through this website I am about to order the AOEM-GM24 for installation in my '03. I was just wondering where you guys are pulling the power from for the amp-- more than likely a direct run off the battery. I was wondering if you guys would have any advice/tips on the best way to get the power to the back seat (I plan on mounting mine under the right rear seat).

I was also considering possibly tapping into a power source in the center console (such as the cigarette lighter) but I worry about constantly blowing a fuse or the quality of the power going to the amp.

Thanks for any advice that you can give.

The (stock) amp + is off the battery, via the 30 Amp fuse. The "premium" system controls it's power-up, via an amp turn-on, from the HU.

The C2A-GM24 is for fixed-level output luxury systems. As stated prior, no stock Av has those. Only some were retrofit later.
