In either the end of September or October we will be having our second annual meet in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Our last was quite a fun success for being put together so quickly with 5 Avalanches and their owners in attendance. This time around, however, we are planning for an even bigger and better meet, show, and cruise than the last, with a hopeful 10-15 Avalanches.

Pics of the last event can be found here:

We all had a terrific time despite a rather cool wind, and it can only get better! Come spend a day at the beach, and meet other interesting Avalanche owners and see their amazing vehicles!

I am calling on all club members in DE, MD, VA, NJ, east PA, and just about anyone else who would enjoy spending the day at the beach! If you are interested or would like to attend, please feel free to post here, or email me anytime at dkrucelyak@hotmail.com. I will respond as quickly as possible and would appreciate any and all comments and suggestions.

Come help us make this one of the biggest and best Chevy Avalanche Fan Club meets yet, all the while spending the day in a beautiful place!

Great! I'll keep you posted either on this board or by email. The date should be set soon, along with more details as they come along.

Okay, great! I will be selecting a date soon based on current input from members who plan on attending, and will post it immediately.

Where's everyone else? You mean to tell me, no one else in 5 states can spare a single weekend at a beautiful beach area looking at even more awesome Avalanche's and meeting the owners?!

The meet is still looking like an excellent time though!

Please post some more specs as you get them so I can either clear my calendar or see what my work schedule might be.....You might see the NJAV coming to a town near you!! ;D

Well I'm working weekends till end of Sept., after that I should be able to make a Sat or Sun meet.

Okay, I?ve been putting a few more things in order but am still quite busy with other things, so here?s what is in place:
-I need some input on a date. I have been told from others that these dates are open: September 7, 8, 28, 29 and October 5, 6. Not enough is finalized for the meet to be in the next week, so I?ve scratched Sept. 7th and 8th. The 28th and 29th are a possibility, but SimTechRay would be unable to attend, so I?ve now put October 5th or 6th as tentative dates. But, as usual, the 5th, which is a Saturday, is most likely tied up, meaning the 6th, a Sunday, is looking the best. So, I want input from you guys on everything, would you be available on Sunday, October 6th, at approximately 11:00am? Bad date? Good date?
-Meeting Place- This is still unconfirmed, but I?ve been thinking of a few possibilities, including the Ames parking lot again (large & visible, we can go closer to the road), a few different landmarks and/or beaches, and also the local Lewes, DE full-line GM dealer on Route 1. I have emailed them about hosting the event (basically providing space and a new 03? Avalanche to explore), but have yet to get a response. I?m thinking they may not read their email, but I may still try and contact them if I cannot find a better place. If all else fails, the large Ames parking lot in Rehoboth on Route 1 would still be acceptable, right? I?ll continue scouring the area for that perfect spot in the meantime.
-Awards- I hope to have awards figured out and ready for the meet, and will also figure out judging. This idea is from most car shows, and the 300M Club, as an event they have at most all of their large meets.
-Food- I am thinking after the initial meet, either I will have a place to eat picked out or we can all go our separate ways and come back by a time, just like the May 4th meet. It worked well, and you can go where you want. Another possibility is the large waterfront area in our community that would serve as an excellent last stop. If we do this, I?ll need to know ahead of time, in order to call and schedule our time in the area. It?s beautiful, large, and offers nice sitting areas and piers, all on the Indian River Bay. As the time gets closer, we will determine who and/or what is needed.
-Cruise- This will be mapped out, with routes and stops. I hope to provide you all with a map I?ll create, offering both directions and information of where we are, or are going. The cruise was the best part of last time, and I can only see it getting better this time around!
-Anything else? I?ll try to post more later sometime!

Please, all responses are welcome! :) (y) :)

Depending on the final plans, and the way my shift falls, you may have your second Central Jersey Av. in the meet. Keep me posted, or better yet I'll keep checking the board.

From the dates you posted, we should be available for any of them. We were'nt there last time (didn't even have an AV until July) so I'm not sure where Ames is, but I'll find it.

I have a friend who has a very nice beach house in Lewes, Del on the water on Cape Henlopen. He lets me use it occasionally at end of season so I've been to the area. It MIGHT even be available during the meeting.

Still interested. (so is my dog Rusty, the Golden Retriever)

Beach, those dates seem to be fine for me....usually the ends of the month are not that great because of work, but the seem to have cut the overtime...so it shouldn't be a problem.... :B:

maybe all of us ( central jersities) can meet up somewhere and drive down together

Sunday, October 6th, at approximately 11:00am works for us.

. . . . And for all you folks from central NJ, please try to make it to the meet if you can. We'd like to meet you all . . . . . The more, the merrier! ;D

Great!!!! The more we have, the better, and you will want to come, as I promise this meet will be one terrific, unbeatable time!

Once we decide firmly on an initial meeting place, I will send information and directions out to all of you who plan on attending. Within the next few weeks, you should all be receiving electronic RSVP invitations via email. I will be doing more this weekend since I have an extra day, and should have more information up daily if not more often.

Keep checking here for the latest!

October 5th or 6th, and I'll be there :)
I'll be heading down I-195 to the turnpike...
If any other NJ'ers want to meet up at a rest area on the turnpike before the Deleware Memorial bridge...we'll get a convoy going :B:

Great! I'll count you in SimTech, and can't wait to see all your mods! Our Z66 might look a little weak, with no mods at all!

The idea of you NJ guys meeting and traveling downward in a convoy is even better for more than one reason! Not only will you get the looks, but you'll also know where you're going (or all get lost together!). I'll help you plan this if you guys want to do it, just drop me a line.

Wherever our final meeting place is staged, we'll try to be there a little early so I can set a few things up and touch up any spots on the truck from the whole, long, 10 minute drive! Everyone--bring your QD spray and a few small towels to keep everything nice and shiny! There will be an award for the cleanest or most detailed Av, so try your best! I'll be taking most of the day before for my usual 10 hour weekly spa treatment!

Yea and if mine breaks AGAIN! me n my friend whom is 23 so i can drive :) wont be stuck alone in like camden

AvChick- Didn't they fix it on their "last try" yet? It just doesn't start in the first place, right? It's not like it craps out on the highway? Oh well, that's another discussion!

Okay NJ guys, if you're interested in driving down together in a convoy, either drop me a line or contact each other and we'll go from there. Either way, the more Av's the better!

On another note, I really hope that you all give out brochures to any Av owners you've seen locally. If not that, tell any that you see of the meet. I plan on making some small cards just for the meet, to give along with a brochure to use around here. So far, I know of at least one other local lady (just down the road), that keeps asking about when the meet's going to be, so she should also be there. I want a long line of Av's, in every color and model!

I'm definitely interested, just post the date and I'll see what I can do!
I 've been to Roehoboth before for a little tax free christmas shopping.
I'm coming from Philadelphia area, so if any one is interested in a philly convoy to the beach, e-mail me or post here.

:-*

Keep them coming! If we keep going, maybe we can set a record for the most Av's, especially if I get more locals to join in!

More details will be coming today...

Sorry haven't been around much, I've been lurking in the background....

Let me know what date you all decide. I work the even days in October but i can always see if I can take a day off. ;D

I'll talk to a couple of dealers up here about getting a 2003. Who knows, maybe I'll show up with it! >:D >:D

I'll keep checking back.
