Hey there was a thread where some people were talking about painting their cladding but it kinda died out. So heres my question. It doesnt look absolutely nescessary to take off the cladding to paint it and i would be more than willing to try and do it myself but what do i need to do it?? Primers, Paints, clearcoats???If anyone has tried it or pretty sure it will work give me some info please. I can stand looking at that grey cladding on my white av any more.

I would advise against doing this yourself unless you have paint/body experience. I would also (should you decide to do it yourself) suggest removal of the cladding. Replacing a few plastic clips (ok, maybe more than a few!) is a small price to pay for the convenience of having them off the truck... not having to worry about overspray or catching your paint when you're sanding the cladding.

They do look really nice with the cladding painted!

I seem to recall the prior discussion being fairly complete, try another search... in particular, there was a link to an article in Truckin' (I think) where they did custom paint (black and yellow) on an Av.
