Can I fix my leather seats?

I have marks imbedded in the leather of my back seats from leaving a couple items sitting on it for about six months or so. Its like a dent in the leather; one of them is totally round, and sunk in about an eighth inch. Even though it happened last summer, the marks are still just as bad now. Can I fix them?

:welcome:

Here is how I fixed my front seats from wear and tear.

Seat covers.  I wore out the side of the seat by "sliding" into the truck instead of sitting straight down.  I like it because it matches the truck pretty well.

You can try saddle soap or mink oil either should soften the leather. This stuff is for leather shoes

About the only thing you can do to try to get the impressions out is try steaming them out. You could try a steam iron first - don't touch the iron to the surface, just let the steam hit the area in question. If that doesn't work, you could put a wet rag on the seat and then place the iron on top of that. Unless you want to buy a commercial steamer, that's about all you can do yourself.

If you have any custom upholstery shops around, you could take the truck to them and let them work on the seats a little.

I'm a quality engineer for an OEM seat supplier; we use steam on the seats to remove wrinkles prior to sending them to the customer.

good info...

ditto on the iron thing, i used the same method on my poker table when i restored it with vynil and foam, it had wrinkles in it and the iron smoothed them right out.
good idea

good looking covers BrianLee01, can you give some details? where you got them, ease of installation, etc?
If I remember correctly, the brand is Cal Trend.  I bought them through Stylin Concepts and paid WAY to much for them.  About a month after, I got a mag from California Car Cover and they had the I believe $50 cheaper! :E:
