That this may help some folks shopping for an 04.

Paid for the invoice pricing on the Z71 WBH is was looking at. Worked out like this:

MSRP $47,290
Invoice $41,816
Markup $ 5474

The service that had the invoice pricing offered to find me one at $1200 over invoice plus charge a $200 fee.

I ended up doing the deal over the phone with the Sales Manager of the dealership who had the one I was looking for.

There is a $1750 rebate if you do not take the financing and a $1000 ring in to win promotion as well. Ended up getting it for $39,800.

Effectively invoice $41,816 + $800 (dealer profit) -$1750 - $1000 = $39866. This is not exact as the rebates etc are after tax, but close enough. $7400 off of MSRP.

For those in the US, keep in mind that at or below invoice deals are extremely rare here given the different pricing structures.

Congrats on your purchase NavyZ71wbh (y) Sounds like you made a good deal (y)

:B: Welcome to the club :B:

P.S. - Where are you located? ......... and absolutely pics (and ambers ;))

Did the pickup last night.

Have not even driven it yet, wife has taken control of it so far. Only fair I guess as it replaces the vehicle she was in that got rear ended and totaled a couple of weeks ago.

Here are some pics!

Who can give me a quick run down on the ambers? Are they legal in Canada?

I am in Calgary.

Ambers, in place of the clear bulbs, for DRLs should be fine anywhere in Canada.

btw, nice pics. Nice rig. Again, congrats (y)

Hey, see you got one of those vowel plate numbers :D
Reading plates is more interesting now that they might actually say something. Saw a lady driving the other day, her plate was BAG 199. Worked for me (y)

Whereabouts in Calgary. There's a few of us now.
No need to worry about ambers, they are fine. Now my purple signal lights might get me in trouble some day.

Just figured out that those picks were taken at Southgate. If you live down that way holler at me if you have questions..... but I am going to be out of town for 10 days

Another new Canadian Avalanche owner. I spent a good part of last week perusing this web site, went into a dealership today, and will be picking up a new 2004 Avalanche Monday morning. Lot of good stuff on this site. I am posting my buying costs just to help fellow Canucks, as there is not that much info readily available to us here. List was 57,200, less 5100 preffered supplier discount, less 1,000 ring in credit ( you don't get to ring in with the supplier pricing, but you do get the 1,000 off). Balance of approx. 51,000 with a lease rate of 0.5% for 30 months and a 60% residual. To me those are great numbers, especially the low leasing rates. Pictures to follow. PS got the silver birch with the cladding. I was really on the fence on this aspect, but I prefer the cladded front end, and the step in the rear bumper. Thanks again for all the info. Steve Lawson

Hey Sparky

I just north of the city.

Where do you take your Av for service?
Boy, did it take me long enough to reply!! Was in Nova Scotia for a while. No computer at Dad's house ;)
I take my truck to High Country in High River. Good guys, but that likely would not work for you.

So, whereabouts in Canda do you hang out??

I live in sunny Sudbury, Ontario, about 3 hours north of Toronto. Back on the bright side again. My second last truck was a 1998 GMC Z71 fully loaded, and I loved that truck. I was not crazy about the new GM when it first came out and bought a new F150 Lariat at the time which has also been a great truck. In 160,000 km, I have done a brake job once at 88,000, and replace two spark plug sender units, all ball joints replaced under warranty at 70,000km. This time, I'm not crazy about the new Ford. The visibility out of the cab is terrible, and the box sits up so high it is impossible to load anything over the side, so now back to chevy, at least for the next three years
