Finally got enough snow to try and have some fun in my new Avalanche but was disappointed I cant get it to slide, fishtail , 360, drift whatever you want to call it. Turned off traction control , light came on dash hit the throttle and tried to swing the tail around it began to slide just a little then lite began to flash traction control kicked in and stopped the truck from sliding then light came on solid again. Please don't tell me ill never be able to have fun in the snow with this truck .

I fishtailed mine for the first time today, unintentionally on the wet street :beating:

place shift selector to lowest gear and punch it.          Most traction control systems limit wheel spin by upshifting the trans and throttle control

You prob do not have a locking diff. Sort of a must have for what you are wanting to do.

Make sure you hold down the traction control button for a bout 5-8 seconds to turn off the stability management. If you read the manual there is a section on how to turn it off.

turn off traction control, switch is on center console radio/hvac pod.  When hitting the switch think it stays off untill you start the vehicle or hit the switch again.
