I have had this happen to me only 4 times now over the 8 months since I have had my AV.

I get in my AV and start it up, then I put it in Reverse and press on the gas, it won't move in Reverse. I have to put it back in Park and then Reverse again, then it will move in Reverse.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I believe that the control is "drive by wire" - could be a contact misaligned - sounds like a trip to the dealer might be in order.

My Avalanche did this to me once, but when I glanced down and pulled on the transmission shifter I found I had it between reverse and neutral (if that makes sense). One of my GM pet peeves is their automatic column shifters don't "click" into a gear position. Many times on my 98 Pontiac Montana I would shift into drive and be starting off in 3 or even 2, and then would have to shift back up.

Agreed that because it is electronically controlled, if you can recreate the problem, time to bring it to the dealer. Sadly most folks know the drill if you can't recreate it. Hey, we can't fix a problem we can't see...

When it happens I always make sure that I am in R and not N. It has only done this 4 times now in 8 months so it is no big deal until it starts to do it on a regular basis. Lets say 1 out of ten times will get me to the dealer for repair. Right now it is 1 out of 500 times.

Just wanted to know if anyone else was seeing this problem.
