Charlotte has a big Frontier Days Festival starting Tuesday.? There are all kinds of things to do throughout the city.?

On Sept 7th 8th and 9th they have a Rodeo.

I was thinking about meeting Saturday Sept 8th in the morning if anyone wants to see the Parade, if not, we can meet after the parade.? The parade starts at 10:30am and usually last a little over an hour.

Anyone interested?

There is a chance we will be able to participate in the parade.
Here is a chance to get our club out to more Avalanche owners in Mid-Michigan and to display all of the sweet Avalanches and strobes and train horns and all the other mods!!

Come on lets do this!!  (y)

That would be great if you and Freebie could make it.
After the Rodeo they have a Saloon set up at the Fair Grounds.  It is huge!!

I've heard of Frontier Days but never went because it's the same weekend as The Carry Nation Festival and I lived in downtown Holly for many years. This is the 34th annual Carry Nation Festival.

The Carry Nation Festival is always the weekend after Labor Day. This is a popular festival, held annually in the historic Village of Holly, Michigan, in honor of the great prohibitionist's visit to Holly, when it was a booming railroad town riddled with taverns and ladies of ill repute. Carry was known for busting up bars, and closing down sinful drinking and gambling establishments, and Holly was a perfect choice.?

I should add I lived cornerwise across from the Holly Hotel in what was purported to be a "House Of Ill Repute" back when Carry Nation visited Holly. It did have two front doors ?  In Holly they celebrate the antics of the umbrella wielding and hatchet carrying Carry Nation, (she'd smash liquor bottles with her umbrella and hatchet bartops), with what else, Beer Tents.

So does that mean you are going to the Carry Nation?
Cool, sounds like fun.  Have fun!!

Sounds like fun. I have a wedding to go to that day  :(

Would be cool to be in the parade though!

Good ol Holly folks celebrating prohibition by drinking all day... that always cracked me up!  I have the day off, so I think we might make it out that way Casey, definitely thinking about it!

Hey, what time is this going on?? 10:30? Depending on the timing of this and that of the wedding, I might be able to swing both!  (y)

Change of plans.  I can not do the Parade at 10:30am.  Les has a cross country meet in Harper Creek (Battle Creek) at 10am.
We will be going to the Rodeo at 8PM though!!

So...If anyone wants to meet before the Rodeo and get some Chow let me know and we can meet up around 5PM or so.

:kidding: Family comes first Bigc, we understand.

Do you have tickets for the rodeo or do you get them when you get there??

Alrighty, we're in!  Can't so no to a rodeo!  Dinner before sounds good... how much is the rodeo, and where do you suggest we meet?

:needhug:

I suck!!  I forgot about another prior commitment I was reminded about this afternoon.
Not going to make the Rodeo either!!  (n)
Sorry everyone that is planning on going.  You can still go, I just won't be able to make it.  There is a chance I will be at the Saloon after 10PM but I am not going to commit just yet.

I don't know how much the rodeo cost, seems like it was $10 last year.  You can get tickets right at the gate.
