i just wanted to know who everyone serviced their AV because the dealership does like to jack up the price. i have been bringing to the dealership but since the 36k mark is around the corner, i was thinking about bringing it to an independent shop...

When I bought my AV I had intended to have it maintained by the dealer...but they have jerked me around and gave me a bunch of bull when I had a warranty problem...they never did address my problem, so I have done all the servicing myself...they will never see me again...it's no big deal and you know you have used the best quality oils, filters and lubricants.

I take mine to the dealership for anything covered by the warranty....wonder what the breakdown would be if you seperated the dealer (warranty) vs dealer (no warranty)

I answered DEALERSHIP. My biggest fear on maintaince, and mods is doing it myself and 'REALLY' screwing it up. I do all mods extermly slow, and maintaince is left (Even though I know I'm paying alot more.)to the dealership.

I service my Av at the dealership throughout the duration of the warranty....reason being if anything was to happen.....they have my service record on their systems....and they wouldn't be able to scream neglect....so until the 36,000 runs out...it goes to big daddy GM.... :B:

If I have warranty concerns (have not had any yet), it will go to the dealership. Otherwise, I do my own service. All receipts/dates/etc. are kept in a binder so there is a chronological order of anything done. This should keep you clean for future concerns at a dealership.

My AV is a lease, so I take it to the dealer. I have not had any complaints. I bought an extended warranty to cover the duration of my lease. I will be taking it to the dealer until the warranty runs out or I get another AV whichever comes first.

dhaluzak, good to see another Lessee here. I think were of the minority here. I am going to have to buy mine at lease end as I've done so much to her!

As far as service, warranty issues will be (haven't had any yet other than the PCV valve) will be at the dealer. Routine maintenance (rotations, oil changes, etc) are done at an independent shop as I get good discounts there by being a "member" of their's. I get synthetic oil changes for about $22.

For oil changes I use independant local I guy I trust...

FOr anything else...wait has been nothing else...but I would use the dealership.....

I had a year's worth of free service that I negotiated when I bought it. That just ran out but they also gave me 2 free oil change coupons on top of that. So I have 2 oil changes left. As long as I get good service and a reasonable rate, I'll go to the dealership. Even though it's a 30-40 minute drive.

What a second....why would you have to buy the extended warranty on your lease...doesn't you lease run for 48 months...with a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty?..... ???

i take it in for the warranty stuff. anything covered under the service umbrella i take care of myself.
some things i can not get warrantied because they were items that broke near or around one of my mods. i wsa told if the mod was not done then the item would not have been damaged. i.e., the inside door handle mod. the grab handle has a bolt the runs through a small tab where the handle extends out from the armrest on the door. if you look there the tab will be broken or have a stress line through it. maybe not everyone's, but a few. just the nature of the beast. :8:
