Chrome Mirrors

I'm sure people have noticed the chrome-finished side mirrors on some of the GM SUVs (Suburban etc.) Why doesn't the Avalanche come with them?

Does anyone know if it's just a chrome accent that can be fastened on, or is it embedded in the mirror housing thus requiring a complete replacement?

I think you'll find that they have "color keyed" (body color) mirrors on their premium models. I suppose they believe that they look better than the chrome ones, I can't necessarily say I agree or disagree. I believe that that area can be popped off or out and replaced with chrome or whatever color you wish, however I don't know if the inserts are actually sold as a separate part.

There are interchangable. I was going to do this until the fiance said "no" "I like the red better" and well... end of story.

I have to agree with the Mrs. or soon to be Mrs... Body Colour Matched mirrors are much nicer than the chrome inserts. Especially Arrival Blue Metallic!!

My only exception would be the WBH BLACK, as then I would like to see lots of chrome...

I am with the red pantie boss as for the color keyed mirrors. The chrome ones will look good on certain colors but red on red looks better. She made a wise choice.

I don't know, they might look pretty sharp on my black AV...anyone know the part # or where you can get the inserts? I checked the Putco link but all I saw was door handles (although I want those too

Oh, I disagree. I think chrome would look REAL good on an arrival blue AV. And if you order some and or chrome door handles, E-mail me as I would like to buy the arrival blue items from you. Heck, I think black would look good too - trade ya. >:D
