Does anyone know of any body shops that have done the painting on the avalanche body hardware? I just recently purchased a 2002 Chevy Avalanche Z71 and looking to paint it completely pewter. I'm having a hard time finding a body shop that does the painting in the Miami area. Also does anyone know of any good salvage yards around? I want to do the Escalade EXT front conversion also.

Welcome to the club .....

I suggest looking and searching through this section...as many have painted their cladding.....some have done it themselves....

Good luck...

MJT: I had my cadding painted in Jupiter. I thought that it was pretty reasonable and it came out great. One of the promoters at my night club in Miami also does custom work. E-mail me if you want more info.

I'm definately interested. Live in Coconut Creek and I've been thinking of having it painted.

The question is did they sand your cladding or just paint over it?

Are you happy with it and do you think the paint will stick?

The biggest question is what did it cost?

I have a thread somewhere (probably in this new cladding section) where I describe the painting process. In short, quick sanding as to avoid the fuzz, then sandable primer and sanding three times, then prime, then paint (off body). It has been a while now and it still looks great and turns lots of heads. It definitely is red now (spiderman red as my son says). In fact, I would have the EXT right now if it came in "spiderman red". But I really love the Av. Now I need some wheels.

Is it possible to get the name and information of the place that painted your Av?
