I am looking for a clip on chrome bowtie and other makes and models. Chrome is what I am looking for. Have searched dead end. I do not want to take the grill off and bolt a billet on. Just reach up and pop the two clips and insert a new on. Help?

why not spray your stock bowtie with chrome paint and some clear coat?

(home depot, auto zone, pep boys ect)

Chrome in high impact resistant. No flaking or pealing. Billet would be nice with the clips. Even stainless. Not into painting unless it is powercoating. Plastic does not perform well in the oven. Thanks for the suggestion!

oven? ummm you don't need to bake it...

Might want to talk to Les about the durability of the paint on the bowtie before you dismiss the idea... he has made a number of custome painted bowties for people.....

I got the Trenz bowtie and went to Lowes for some double-ended threaded bolts. I didn't want to take the whole grill assembly off either. It took a little extra time, nimble fingers, and the magnet retriever for the few times I dropped the wing nuts. But it's on and staying on.

Yes, I have had my grill off. Taking my clip on bowtie takes 5 seconds. I guess this will be a home project since no one manufactures one.

OK No help or not available. So I made my own stainless steel bowtie. Maybe I can link the picture if it is not too large.

Materials:
1 new Avalanche front bowtie $15
1 sheet of .100 thick stainless
Use removed GM bowtie to outline your pattern
3 real good jig saw blades
Disk sander or DA
100 grit sand paper DA
280 grit sand paper DA
400 grit sand paper DA
1000 grit sand paper Hand
1500 grit sand paper Hand
Stainless steel polishing compound for buffer (Can get at Lowes)
999 man hours = mirror finish forever.

I removed the clip from the new GM bowtie and used silicon and epoxy to hold on the Stainless
