Hey all,

At the end of the MeanGreenAv B-day GTG thread:

Eric asked about a November GTG:

Well ladies and gentlemen, is time to start talking about a GTG for November? Or am I too early? I really want to get one more trail ride in before the snow gets too bad, but I just don't know if that's possible. I guess we'll just have to see. Talk to y'all later.
Eric

I don't think it is too early to talk about a November GTG.

What are people's schedules looking like? The first Saturday is out for me. The second Saturday MIGHT be out as well. Other than that, Sundays req an afternoon GTG for me (due to church).

So, how about it?

-Joe

I am always up for a GTG (y).

Now that cross country is winding down, I'll have more free time for sure.

Erie - I saw your post in the other thread. It would take a complete miracle for a trail to be completely open for off-roading in November unless there is one at low altitude in the foothills or lower. Of course, it would be great to drive in a line of Avs somewhere.

Let's see a few more people check in to express their interest before we start seriously planning. So far we have Joe, Eric and me.

The good dates for me are the 15-16 and 29-30 unless I can talk my boss into letting me off one of the other weekends. There are 3 trails that are just south of Idaho Springs that I mentioned in the thread for Jimmy's birthday. I don't know if those will be low enough in elevation or not. Being that I've never been here for a winter, I don't know what to expect. Well, that's my input, so I guess we'll just have to see what everybody else thinks. All I know, is that I really want to keep this club going throughout the winter so that we still have a club next year, if ya know what I mean. Talk to y'all later.
Eric

I'll be available the 8th and 9th. The 15th-16th weekend is up in the air at the moment, I might be available.

Gary

I'll be out of town Nov. 7-9... should be available on saturdays otherwise and sundays when the Broncos don't play at home.

Joe,
You may want to add "Colorado" to the name of your thread. I almost skipped over the thread, but saw your name. Right now, the month looks fairly open. I really wish we had a crystal ball and could have predicted the super weather we had the past two weekends. Could have had a few high mountain cruises.

Did you wife pick you up from work last week, Joe. I saw an AV at the Sonic in Castle Rock with Amber DRLs last Thursday or Friday. I think it was green. I didn't remember what color yours was.

Steve

Also, Joe, did you ever get the AV true-type font?? My home computer died right after our last GTG, and I just got it back up. If you did not find it, I can e-mail it to you. IM me with your e-mail address.

This has got to be Nople :). He has a forest green Av with amber DRL's and he lives in Castle Rock. My dad and I ran into him by accident one day too in the mountains when we climbed Torrey's Peak and Gray's Peak. I guess he just gets around :). He hasn't been very active here lately though.

Joe - Castle_Rock_AV made a good suggestion about the thread name. It works for being in the Colorado Groups section but most of the time, I just go to "Topics Active in the Last 24 Hours."

I can't believe how the weather has held out. My suggestion is that if we want to have an off-roading GTG, we do it either this weekend or the weekend after. It's not very much time to plan but because of the season, anything can happen in Colorado and the later in the season we go, the better chance we'll run into snow that's too deep to handle.

If we decide we can't have an off-roading GTG, we can have more time to plan :).

I have to work this coming up weekend, so it would be out for me. In all actuality, I could do a GTG this weekend, but it would be extremely difficult. I work from 5pm-5am on Fri, Sat, and Sun. So, I could do it during the day, but I'm sure I would be falling asleep at work that night. So, this coming weekend really isn't that good for me.

So y'all, what does everybody think about a November GTG on the 1st or 2nd?

Joe, I almost missed this thread too. It really needs that Colorado touch.

Talk to y'all soon.

For sure guys, I blew it by not putting Colorado in the Topic...first time I saw it on the front page, I thought it was too general. Wonder if a moderator might want to change the Topic to include Colorado or CO or COL or..okay, I'll stop. ;)

Nope, Wifey didn't pick me up. Musta been whom Jimmy mentioned. And my '02 is Indigo Blue...I'm not in Castle Rock proper with the Avy very much. Usually drive it on Fridays ('cuz it's mine again for the weekends) but haven't gone out for Friday lunch in a while. So far this week, I've driven it both workdays. I passed a black Avy going the other way on the Frontage road S. of Medved on Monday morning...

I did get the Avalanche font (from Ivan). Kinda makes my sig unreadable to me now, though.

This Saturday is not good for me, relating to a GTG. My boys have karate advancement testing in C.Springs. Sunday might not be bad. We're done doing the popcorn show and sells for Cub Scouts (thank goodness) so I have more options and we'll be going to the early church service this weekend.

TTYL,

-Joe

Joe as the person that started this thread you can modify it. If you look at your first post... you should see some buttons that say "quote", "quote all", "modify" & "delete"... just click on "modify" and add Colorado, CO, COL or COLO or well you get the idea. (y)

Thanks 'chuck. I was able to edit that first post but it didn't update the Subject in the Forum. (Note that I also added Colorado to the subject of this post. I'll have to see what effect that has on the Forum Subject.)

It sounds to me like the weather will be deteriorating this weekend anyway. My main point about having a GTG soon was so that we could fit it in before snow becomes an issue.

If we can't go off-roading, a simple cruise in a line sometime at a later date would also be fun. Or we can plan on a GTG during a snowstorm and drive around in that ;D.

Thanks, Joe for changing the name of this thread.

Had to track down the thread again, had it saved under the old title. Must have been Nople's wife I saw that day. Have not heard from him in a while. Guess he got board with us.

As Mean Green said, it looks like the weather will start getting worse tomorrow through in the weekend. Figures....

Have my daughter's second birthday next weekend.

I would still like to get together in early November - even if it was just for dinner again. It would be nicer if we could find someplace as interesting as D&B, but someplace that would reserve us a few parking spaces together. It would be nice to get another set of Pics and spend some more time showing off our trucks and looking over others. It was great for Kodiakz to make an appearance and show us his SuperCharger, Subwoofer and Alpine video system last time. Wish we had more time to talk with everyone.

Isn't there a Jilian's or Gameworks out at Colorado Mills in Golden. I wonder if there is a Chevy Dealer nearby (Stevenson?) or if the mall would be willing to mark off a few spaces nearby??

Any ideas??

There is a Chevy dealer right beside Colorado Mills on Colfax - I do think it is Stevenson

I know the 9th weekend is out for me - with any luck we will be spreading either 75ton of stone or 130 ton of recycled asphalt on the driveway - he maybe if we get enough AV's together to haul my material it will save on the killer trucking cost. Anyone have a buddy with a Tandem that works for a decent rate? Trucking is going to be 75% of my cost OUCH!!! Bend over - LOL

I saw Mom MeanGreen today when I was in Denver :)

Let me know other weekends and I will see how my schedule shapes up

I haven't been able to attend any meetings so far, mostly because I had to return home to take care of some family concerns. But I'll be back in Colorado soon and would enjoy getting together with everyone.

Yeah, that's what she said :). I wish I had been there - darn school ;D. For whatever reason, my sister's school got out early and I was stuck at school for the whole day :(.

At least my mom has a watchful eye in my absence :).

Looks like the first two weekends are out then. We could possibly do it on Saturday the 1st. Otherwise I would push for the weekend of the 15th.

Anyone buy their AV at Stevenson?? Know the owner or sales manager?? I would think that we could find 4-6+ spaces at the mall in the back if either the dealership or the mall would not reserve us a few spaces.

How about the 15th or 16th??

The 1st/2nd or 15th/16 will work for us. I'm off those two weekends. It really doesn't matter what we do, but as most of you know, I'd really like to hit a trail. I hope nobody minds, but if we hit a trail, I'm going to try to talk Corrie in to driving the AV and I'd be driving my Jeep. I'm really curious as to how the Jeep will stand up to the AV on a trail. Talk to y'all soon.

Well, our Av was supposed to go there but my dad blew up at them in the showroom a couple weeks before we took delivery because they wouldn't give us nearly enough for our trade.

So when we found the perfect Av for us, we had it delivered to Luby Chevrolet and got a good deal (y).

This wouldn't matter anyway because I'm sure they would have forgotten and we could go there if we wanted.

I'm just saying our Av was supposed to be a product of Stevinson ;D.

Ok here is my tentative schedule for the month of November...

1&2 - out of town (Steamboat Area)
8&9 - out of town (AZ)
15 - available
16 - Bronco Game
22 - available
23 - Bronco Game
29&30 - available

Let's try to plan for the 15th of November for a GTG.

If we cannot find anyone who has a relationship with Stevenson, we can plan on meeting on the SW rear corner of the Colorado Mills. There has always been parking back there when I go.

I would like to meet earlier than 4:00 this time. Seems like the last one flew by. Depending on the weather, and how hard we are pushed by the Burtons, we could have a few of us meet early in the morning for a short 4x4 trip and then meet everyone else at the Mills at about 1-2 pm.

So is the 15th OK for everyone? ???

Alternate Plans... Opinions....? ???

The 15th sounds good for us. And yes, I reeeeaaaallllyyyyy want to do a trail or two. But if not, I guess I'll be ok. :( I guess we'll just have to see what mother nature has in store for us. Where is this mall that you all are talking about?

I will be sorry to miss meeting you guys. Gee. and being a new member, with a 2004 that I purchased from Stevinson too!

I can't do the middle part of November at all!

I'll catch you the next time.
