Conversion from factory non gps to factory gps

I was wondering if anyone has removed there factory non GPS unit and replaced it with a factory GPS head unit.
I have soon bad experience with non factory unit on my other car so I am looking for addition information.
Thanks in advance for any advise.

it can be done, pretty much plug and play depending on your year and what your are replacing it with. You will also need to add a GPS antenna under the dash, potentially a VSS wire and maybe also have the new unit flashed to your vin number to unlock it. Lot's of information on here about the process. I replaced my 2007 AVY Bose / DVD non Nav HU /Rear RSE with one from a 2008 Tahoe that had the Bose/ DVD/ RSE and NAV. Works perfectly as if OEM.

Maybe share more info of your AVY year and HU OEM options, others will add their advice as well.
