Cool Mod, Aftermarket Z-71 Decals

Cruising on Ebay and found a couple of cool aftermarket Z-71 decals out of Canada. Item #1777011027 USA Flag in Z-71 format. Might look good on a black Av. He has got several others. Anybody got a set yet and how do they look. Love the site and info, thanks all.

I worked with a local graphics company to custom make my own rear panel decals. I hated the ones that came with the truck since day one. I too added the Z-71 decals from the Tahoe, but not on the rear pillar. I placed them on the front quarter panel just ahead of the mirrors. The panel goes up just behind the hood and seemed liked the perfect place for these. They look incredible.

The custom ones for the rear will be cut today. Weather permitting they go on today as well. I will send pics when I get these on. They will match the colors of the Tahoe decals but will be from the current model pickups sporting the Z-71 OFFROAD decals. Those decals have a red Z, grey 71, and OFFROAD in white. Mine will be shiny gold Z, Shiny silver 71 and OFFROAD, and a Shiny black background. Should be identical to the Tahoe ones in color but with OFFROAD added just below the 71 and half the size of the 71. Total size of decal approximately 4 1/2" X 11". I plan to place these just ahead of the taillights and just below the rear lock boxes.

Sounds cool, are the Tahoe Z-71 different than ours? I like the style of the 2002 on my av just not the colors. Got the same suit disorder and want something different. looking forward to the pictures..

The Z71 decals from the Tahoe are from about the 1999 version. The decals I had made are similiar to those but also say "OFFROAD" just below the "71". They are not raised like those from the tahoe. I did them in the same color as the Z71 decal. They are three color and come as three seperate decals. This was done so that they could be placed on one at a time, eliminating any air bubbles. Each one lays over the one before it. I was able to apply both sides (six decals total) in less than 15 minutes. The price for these including shipping in the US would be about $25.00. You could change the colors to any that you want as long as there are no more than three. If you wanted only two colors the price would be slightly less.
I chose to go with metallic colored rather than shiny like that on the Tahoe decals. Metallic will last about 7 years longer than the shiny colors would have and are far less likely to scratch. Pics later today. ;D

:B: This is my first attempt at posting pics so here goes. I have also painted the lettering on the cladding.
 It said the image is too large I will have to try again later.

You will need to shrink the pic using picture software...or host it somehwer on web and then give us a link to it....HTH

Just click on the home icon under the officer. It should take you to the web page. I think I finally got it.

OK, got it. Looks like the page name is case sensitive. You have "avpics.html" in the links above, but the page is really "AvPics.html" To prevent confusion, you should go back and edit the other posts so they work.

Nice job on those custom decals, WI COP!

More nice mods, I like the not quite standard look. ?Another reason to have a single thread with al the linky thingos to make all this stuff easy to find. ?

These decals could be purchased and shipped for twenty dollars if anyone else is interested. :)

fireout2002,
Here's what mine look like. Well actually the ones I have now are slightly larger then these and I have added reflective tape around them. I have one set of the pictured ones for sale if anyone wants them.

Sim...the one's you currently have on your Av...are those the one's your looking to sell?....the reflective one's in on your website..... :B:

Na sorry guys,
The ones I'm selling are exactly like the pic in the post, regular decal.
The ones I currently have on my truck are about two inches wider and a bit taller then that one and I added the black reflective tape myself.

Looks good....what excatly did you ask him for ....just to replace the oem stickers, but in the color you specified..or are those different size altogether..I can't tell....looks slammin though... :B:

Back in August when I got my truck I didn't like the red Z71 that came standard. I asked Kevin at Stripeman if he had any replacement Z71 decals in the same style but a different color. He said no but, he would be willing to make them up. So that's what we did. I stenciled the factory logo and sent him the stencil and pictures. He matched the factory logo in size and design to near perfection. The new logo is the same height and about 1/4" longer, if I remember right. I think he calls the style 'fade' because it matches the 'Chevrolet' logo for the tailgate which was 'fade'. Hope this helps. Kevin and the others at Stripeman were very godd to deal with.

Hope this helps. Thanks for the compliments.

well, I got my pair of usa flag z-71 stickers to replace the stock ones on my truck, they are from decalking, I love them! they are great looking, I have tested them tough, and I'll have to say, I give them two tumbs up! ? ?(y)
