For the 2nd time in a month my check engine light came on.

The 1st time it was for a bad solenoid for the fuel system located near the driver side rear axle.

Today it made some pinging sounds when I was around 9,500 ft like it had low octane gas.... 30 miles later the light came on.

I have to leave on a quick business trip. As soon as I get back, the AV is going to see the General to find out what is wrong this time.

I might have to slow down on putting miles on the AV, so I get all of these things fixed before I hit 36K. :7:

i hear ya. that darn light came on just a few days ago, then decided to dissappeard today :2: i thought, maybe ill take the truck to the general monday and have them look at the parking brake at the sametime.

now, the lights gone, im confused ???, oh well. im still taking the truck to get checked and maybe ill mention the light to the service reps to see what'll happen.

p.s. im not sure when exactly when the light came on, but all i remember doing before was revving the engine abit for the co-workers to hear the new exhaust system.

Hey Blueruck,
Did you notice any noise when this solenoid went bad?
I seem to have developed an intermittent whine from around that same area. Going to the dealer this week for it.

Sim - there wasn't any noise when I had this problem - I pulled my invoice and the problem was with the Evaporation Vent Solinoid.

Good luck with getting your AV fixed.

I just had the same problem. The dealer checked and cleared the code for me no charge I might add, but he did say it will probably come back on. Does anyone know how to replace this?

Did you see this thread?

was that evaporation vent selinoid causing a problem with putting gas in the vehicle,  and do recall what the price was for the part.
