I've always been curious on this one:

What the hell are the two little pods on the dash in the defroster vents?

They look like space telescopes or something! ;D

They are the sensors for the automatic headlights. If you put your hand over them for about 10 seconds, your headlights will come on.

And here I thought they were hidden cameras so the Department of Homeland Security could keep tabs on me...

;)

Actually one of them is for the lights and the other is for the auto climate control and it measures the amount of direct sunlight coming through the window so it can adjust the cooling and heating features. :B:

Interesting... I thought it would be strange to have two sensors for one item. What's also strange about them is the one on the driver's side looks black to the naked eye, but when I have my sunglasses on, it looks maroon. Weird!

Funny that the millions in R&D couldn't make them nicer looking/less conspicuous.

On other vehicles the are incorporated into the back of the rear-view mirror. Many less obvious places could be used IMO.

Oh well. A nice conversation piece.
