When I plug into my new Pioneer cd player I lose all sound. I'm assuming that the red connector (OnStar) on the lower left hand back side of the factory stereo is where my speaker wires are connected.

I do use OnStar and I don't care if it is disconnected. How can I get sound with out the OnStar (red connector) connected to anything.

Help??? :9:

The problem is the factory amp. There are several threads on this, just search for amp bypass. This is one of the links hope it helps.

Forgot to mention cense you have a 02. I replaced the onstar buttons with the factory storage pocket. Cost me $12.00 and 5 min. to do. Just pull the from bezal on the dash and the onstar controls come out with ease. If I find the part number again I will let you know.

Stutz, make sure that you power the factory amp if you are keeping it--pink wire I believe in the 9 pin harness.
