I among others am always concerned about rust on a vehicle. Especially if you live in a damp environment or a place that gets a ton of snow, salt etc.

Didn't GM make the change a while back tp prevent the Body of a vehicle from rusting? I know much of it depends on where a vehicle was built and painted etc, or does it?
My 94 Silverado has several little dings and rock chips that go through the paint. It hasn't shown a spec of rust, and it's been in every kind of weather.

Can anyone verify this? Did GM fix this?

The body panels are galvanized........

check the chevy web site they say some stuff about that...

Rust is nowhere near the problem that it used to be. GM is using more galvanized steel than ever before. You still need to be careful about washing the salt off as soon as possible and touching up any nicks and scratches that you get. Remember the "rust warranty" is for rust-through. You can have some really ugly surface rust, but unless there is a hole, the repair will not be covered.
