Have you told your auto insurance company about your lifted Avalanche?? I haven't told my current provider but, when I started looking at different companies (Country Wide Insurance is one) they said they cannot cover vehicles with modified suspension.  So that is what has prompted the poll. If you voted yes, please post who your insurance company is.? (y)

I was planning to when I get my lift. Otherwise, the lift wouldn't be covered in the policy. I'm sure it will make the premium go up a few bucks, but I think it's worth it rather than eating $6k in suspension parts and wheels / tires if it's totaled or stolen.

I did and I added my rims and tires under my coverege just in case something happened to them.I didn't have my lift added, but I probably should being those aren't cheap either.Oh ya my insurance is Geico

AAA. They told me to take pics of lift, wheels, and tires save your receipts price didn't g up

I had Performance But the Adjuster saw my AV and  telling me that nothing on that Truck is covered in your policy.

Well I now Have CHUB and all the mods That are Documented are covered.

and there are a lot of mods over 30K (parts and labor)

Mine does and I have a rider on my policy to cover it.

Advice- Tell your company in writing that you have a modified suspension. You might pay extra for the coverage, but you've spent a ton of money on the lift, why risk it?

Trust me on two things- do NOT take the ins company's agent word on whether it is covered or not. The ins company will do everything possible not to pay out. And get coverage in writing.

Remember, if your truck is stolen without extra coverage, you are out that money as well. Think beyond just collision coverage.

Sorry it is CHUBB Insurance co.

They are big in insuring hot rods and classic cars.
They took my AV on a few conditions.
1) all other cars were insured through them.
and coverage was for max loss of 32k on my AV only

This works out (right now) to 50% of purchase Price of 02AV and 50% on Mods.

The only stipulation is Each year I need to Verify the coverage on the AV.

I haven't called them yet to inform them of my SL and BL. Since adding my body lift a few weeks ago I was wondering about coverage / liability if I'm in an accident.?

Now I know what to call it, a "modified suspension"

My ins. comp. - Allied Ins.

i am going to lift mine as soon as the wheels come.  got the tires yesterday.  i think my mod is on a need to know basis... >:D
