Wiped the lower ball joint grease prior to greasing. This fell to the floor. Maybe why it is "popping" when turning? Not the penny Joe.

Yes. Going in Tues. for the tire rotation, rear gate cables, balance, etc. Will give it to the tech.

It is metal. Lort of looks like the old bushings when you put in new king pins years ago. Drives normal, brakes normal.

Another picture.

In this pic...is this a weld bead? IE a seam? like the inside of structural tubing?

May not even be part of your truck, could easily have been something kicked up/picked up from travelling.

DougD,
See you are on the other side of the Bay from me.
It was on top of the ball joint support, stuck in grease. Really hope you are right! :0:

Couple of questions for you ....
Do the boots on your constant velocity joints look intact?
Is the popping noise right under your seat?

Boots are intact. Wiped everything down and didn't see anything broken/ruff eadges. Popping sounds in the front someplace. Could be under my seat area. However, it is more pronounced when I am making a hard left turn, backing up and go over the drain at the end of the driveway. Will show the dealer Weds.

Man, am I that predictable? I mean yeah, that's what I would have said and all but geez. ;)

And I don't know what the metal piece is but if you have a penny left, put it to use........and get modding! >:D

the reason I ask is that I have the same popping noise... I suspect a loose bolt on the torsion bar... am also going to schedule an appt
