Door Moldings???

I have an '04 WBH no flares or door moldings in summit white. Looks great. However, I would like to install the thin door moldings in white. Not the Yukon XL's too wide. I saw some on a GMC 4 door Z71. Anyone know if these would fit?

Just want some protection from door dings. The original moldings are ugly, imo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes they fit. There's a couple Members who have them. If you find then right thread they even list the p/ns.

i have never seen these moldings. i have seen the thin chrome moldings on the gmc crew cabs and the big thick body colored moldings on the suburbans, but not the body colored thin moldings. i would be interested in pics if you know of any.

You're right. On the lower priced models those thin moldings are black and can no doubt be painted. BUT, I don't know if they have them for a Crew Cab. All I recall seeing is chrome.

what you are looking for are the mouldings from a GMC 1500HD crew cab. Actually i think that GMC is making a regular 1500 crew cab in 04, that truck should also be using the same door mouldings. Yes they will fit.

The new Crew Cabs should be hitting the lots soon I think.

did a little research to find the smaller/thinner painted (or non-painted) moldings and cannot find them on ANY gmc crewcab or chevy crewcab 1500 or 2500 years 2000-2004. i have scoured the net for pics and come up with the same old moldings, the thick painted w/ chrome strip on the chevys and the thin chrome ones on the sierra. mikez71, are you sure about the gmc's having these moldings?

Spend some time searching the WBH forum, look at posts by me as a good example - there are PLENTY of part number listings, molding options, etc.

Look for flares as a search term as well. Some of the postings combined the two items. You may find at least a lead in there.

dougd,

thanks for the response. i have been looking at the different molding options for awhile now on the forum and havent found exactly what i want. i'd like something that is very unobtrusive, something like the painted door moldings on the f-150s. i am trying to match the rest of the truck and keep it clean/painted to match. here is my truck so far...

I found this quote when I install my moldings in my avalanche.

The GMC Sierra Crew Cab has the same door as the Avalanche. Therefore, its moldings will fit the same. The part number for the front door molding is 157744371 ($27.57 each). The molding part number for the rear door is 15200596 ($36.00 each). I just bought some, they fit just like a Sierra Crew Cab. You can order them at GMpartsdirect.com. With shipping, a set of 4 will cost $152.57. I think chrome looks awesome with my LPM Avalanche

Hey sthomp nice truck. I am also looking for some new door moldings. I am kinda sick of the black ones I have now. I have been thinking about getting the GMC sierra ones. The only thing that sucks is that they don't offer pewter for 04 and I can't find any pewter mirror covers. I am hoping to get some new escalade door handles soon. Mikesav.

'm getting the same ones poster in another thread but they are now $120 + $8 shipping @ www.theptking.com

Whoa....how weird. I just purchased the same moldings from The PT King about 1 week ago, and they cost me $118 + $8 shipping. ??? At least the price increase is only $2 and not like $20 or somthing. :cautious: They should be arriving tomorrow. ;D

I take it that's an internet price? I was looking at the web site yetserday and it had $179 listed! I just looked again.....they show the very same picture with different prices for different applications????? From 119 to 179!

Mikesav,

Dude, if you are gunna pull off your mouldings keep them in great shape and we might be able to make a deal. Those are the factory one that I can l paint to match right? If I want to or can.

I will talk with you later when you are closer to removing for your next mod.

will this fit 04?

i cant find them listed as an accessory. 15200596 comes up as molding.
157744371 doesnt come up but if you take out one of the 7's (15744371) it comes up as MLDG-F/DL . neither one shows what years they fit.
