Today was the day, never thought it would happen. Traded my beloved Avalanche in today, she will be gone this afternoon. I have kept her longer than any vehicle I have ever owned, a testament to what a grand job she has done for me.

On the upside, I am now the proud owner of a 2007 GMC 2500HD, D/Max/Allison. I can only hope it serves me as well as the Avalanche has.

I do plan on staying in the club.  I will visit every day. As a famous club member once said, "It's not just about the Avalanche anymore"

I will post several pics tomorrow when I get a chance.

and maybe someday a diesel Avy will be available

You know I will...just so other club members can wonder why a non-Av has ambers.

This is just silly...I don't pick up the new truck until 5pm so my Av is still sitting in the driveway looking at me. For some reason I feel guilty. Also my link to other club members seems to be broken. I have been here for so long it doesn't feel right not having an Avalanche anymore.

Okay, so gotta ask - why go from the 2500 AV w/the 8.1 to the Deisel?  Are you towing so much that it was worth the move?

We are moving to a fifth wheel in a couple of years. If the 8.1 was still around, it would be in my new truck. The diesel is awesome, but it's expensive. Although, with only 150 miles on the clock, my new truck already gets 7 mpg better than my Avalanche.
