Escalade EXT rear bumper cover on AV ?

A couple of days ago, I parked my 2002 AV next to an Escalade EXT (there's a visual for you) and couldn't help but compare the two - especially the rear bumper. For the most part, I really like the AV cladding, especially when I see a grocery cart wheeled by some 75 yr-old granny headed towards me. Anyway, the 02 AV plastic rear bumper is, well - ugly. Does anyone know if a 2002 Escalade EXT rear bumper or bumper cover will fit onto an 02 cladded AV ? The Escalade covers can be had for $150-$200 (new). Just curious.

interesting.... never thought of the bumper.... today I saw an ad for the ext... and wondered if the tail lights are interchangeable. I like the smooth ext tail lights over the av's 3d shaped ones

I also had wondered about the ext bumper (cover). I haven't looked real real close, but to me it looked like it was closer to a WBH style with a cover over it. Wouldn't surpise me if the tail lights were a lightly different size. It's been mentioned on here that the sail panels and rear storage covers are slightly different size from the Av. Go figger.

The Av's taillight is about 2" longer than the EXT's. You'd have to do some body work.

Somebody here a while back (3 months or so) was converting his av to an escalade. i still see him selling panels on ebay but have not seen any finished posts.

Ok so you buy this bumper for $200 (new) now you gotta paint your cladding . . . well there goes your mod budget. You gotta think these things thru

I am probably wrong but doesn't the EXTcome with ultra-sonic backup sensors. If so what would you do about them?

Yeah the EXT comes with Ultra-Sonic back-up sensors standard. I don't know if it is possible to get those to run on AV but if you can do it, more power to ya.

Most of the people who've tried to swap out EXT cladding parts onto an AV have found that just about all of them are SLIGHTLY different size. Even the guy who only wanted the EXT 3rd brake light found out that the top of the sail panel had to be replaced, which then didn't fit well with the bottom so that had to be swapped, and both of them then didn't fit well with the sail panels. But before swapping the sail panels he found out that the EXT sail panels wouldn't have fit well against the saddle-bag doors so he stopped there.

Some guy on here swapped a lot of parts and repainted his avy/../...he has the EXT brake light thingy at the top of the sail too...

May I suggest a search as he has pics of his conversion.....

I think he did body work to accept the caddy lights....
