I searched for this but couldnt find anything, i have noticed that the headlights the escalades use are a much brighter blue.

Are they HID? or just a better bulb like silverstars?

Can we put them in the Av???

? you could get the system from GM and put them in the AV i'm sure. ?you would have to just use the bulbs and ballast. ?can't imagine it being very cheap though. ?i will see what i can find out about it tomorrow for those interested.

you guy's got me excited too. it never even crossed my mind. this could be a good thing. considering it is already a GM approved part used in a GM vehicle without any of the problems the guys from the HID GP are having. :0:
i will be on it like white on rice first thing taday. i have a budy that is a parts manager. i will have the prices/info for you today. hopefully he is not off. worst case scenario would be Monday.

? here is what i found out so far...
the bulbs for the '03 Escalade are as follows:

PN- 88979814- Bulb, HDLP (low beam)= $280ea.

? we could not find the ballast. ?however this was not my regular guy. ?the guy i deal with was off today. ?so first thing on Monday i will get with him. ?i am scared to ask what the ballast are going for. ?there is also a good chance that a new harness will be needed as well. :(
more on Monday.

btw, i have a blow up of the frontend. there is no sign of a ballast. so i will have to wait until Monday. it must be on the other side of the sheetmetal in the pic. ???

sounds like its goin to be a good chunk of change. But man they do look sweet.

here is a little more detail on the lights. i went to the Cadi dealer. they had a Cadillac ESV. i took a look under the hood to see what was up. i could not spot any ballast. all i could see was the bulb. in the housing was what appeared to be a beam deflector attached to the inside of the housing, and possibly the bulb. i looked for a minute, but could not find anything that looked close to a ballast. after a minute, or so, the salesman was wondering what i was looking for. then he wanted to do paperwork to take the vehicle home. not. how does $60k sound. i do not like the sound of it myself. i will continue this on Monday.

i am on my way to the dealer to do some more snooping/questioning. hopefully i will have answers and part numbers.

? went to the dealer to look up the parts for the mod. ?my buddy could not find anything other than the $280 bulb. ?if there is something to be found on these vehicles he can find it. ?not today though.
? he is wondering if this is a self-contained light/ballast thing. ?i don't think so. ?or even the ballast maybe located closer to the fusebox. ?which was nowhere close to the places i looked.
? to make a long story short: ?he suggests if we can get this plug & play mod cheaper (Mr. Jung's lights) somewhere else he would get it there.
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?nuff said

not a problem. anything i can do to help. i will not give up however. i will findout exactly how that GM system works just for the hell of it. i may find out some good info while doing so.

cool, hopefully GM will start putting those bulbs in the avs one day

By the way, the bulb does not have a 9006 base on it. It is a standard HID capsule base. Don't remember the exact name for it.
