Was looking on the Cadillac site yesterday just wasting some time trying to think up future projects and I see what looks like Navigation in one of the pictures. I do a little more research and starting Jan 2003, the Escalades are going to offer DVD Navigation as an option. It's a really nice need package too. Fits where the radio normally goes. I'm sure it will be Bose and fully loaded system. It looks really nice though and I can't wait to play with one at the dealership in January.
Here's a link.

Look at the interior pictures and you can see a picture of the whole dash.
Now, here's the idea. If you have OnStar and XM, you already have the antennas and units needed to access the satelites. I wonder how easy/difficult it would be to plug and play the DVD Navigation to the 03 XM, OnStar vehicles.
Any ideas?

That would be neat JASON.....I donate my truck as the guinne pig >:D

That would be cool!

They are getting High intensity discharge (HID) headlamps for 2003 too?;D

hey, i have some info on this set up. The dvd nav will have the bose radio set up. So if your av doesnt have bose in it now, you would need to hook up a seperate amp to it to get sound. second, the gps signal comes directly from onstar. plug and play there. so in theory, if you have bose, it should right up, without bose, you will need a seperate amplifier. hope this helps

So what you're saying is there is still a way to make this work on the 02.

Jason,
Stay on top of this one.

I actually saw an Escalade at SEMA with this unit and I played with it a little. Pretty nice!!! Screen seems pretty small, but it does the job.
As for retrofitting to the 2002's and previous, not likely. Remember that the 03's have a taller radio than the 02's.
You know me though, I don't give up easily.
