OK guys. Father's Day is coming up and my sweet wife asked for some hints for the AV she could get for me.

I just bought Av3's billet grille and just put on Stripeman's side cladding decals and tailgate letters.

Any thoughts on some 'must have' at $150-200?

The perfect mods following a billet grille install are an AMP Research billet fuel door and a TRENZ bowtie. ?I get nothing but compliments on both and even got my truck noticed by the local media. ?You can get both for less than $200 total ?;D

I agree with Goo929. ?I'd also recommend getting the owner's manual for 120.00?

Hey Goo929, what part of the billet gas cover did you have to modify or sand down, if you did? How long did it take to install?

I expect to get mine tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the new mod.

It looks very industrial against your black AV. Very cool. What did the media ask you out there?

I had to file down the hinge on the new door to get it to squeeze in and also move a bolt. The process is detailed in this thread: Notes to install Billet Fuel Cap

FOXNEWS noticed my truck around town. They tracked me down and shot some daytime and nighttime video for a segment about old / new car clubs. Asked me about my MODs and the CAFCNA. Hopefully they will show off our website too. It is going to air tonight at 9pm CST in the San Antonio and surrounding broadcast area. I will work with their engineer on getting it on a format for everyone to see.

Goo929, that would be great if we could see the segment. By the way, I installed my billet gas cover today! It was a piece of cake. I'm totally excited with the new look.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed at this point...my wife hates mods or me even discussing them....wish me luck!!! :B:

Two approaches that might work:

1. tell her "everyone's doing it", might work :D

2. tell her it's just required routine maintenance :D

Hey...that's a good idea...or I could always go with my classic excuse...."Honey....it was a clearance item, I got it half off the original price!!"

This one seems to work well every now and again...but I think she is starting to catch on... ;D

That's always a good approach. I saved money with the group purchase, but I had to spend "x" to get it. ;D

All of or any combination of the following:

1. "Tray" type heavy duty floor mats if you ever get off of pavement.

2. Side window visors if you are in an area where it rains at all. ( I am in Seattle-bought these first! )

3. Bug shield. I should have ordered mine before ?yesterday. I now have an 12" crack in my windshield to remind me of that.

With some careful shopping I think you can get all of these for around $200. ?

Speaking of cracked windshields....mine now has a rock crater about 6" in diameter right in the middle..... :C:

Steelheadchaser, where have you looked to get that replaced?

I got a smoked UPD for 209.00 shipping inc.
Direct Hits ignition for 209.00 (if I remember right)

Both were group buys from this site and they are both available still.

Told my wife how much money they would save in gas. >:D She's all for saving money! ;D

The Direct Hits was 212.20. Just got it and looked at the receipt.
