Put down the down payment and financed a North Face edition (born 10/01) for undrer 31000.
There was a weird thing with the rear window. the gasket was a little askew and i said i was worried about leaks. the dealer said they would replace it before pickup on monday.
What should i look for on pick? i didn't see any eveidence of leaks. and the parking brake seemed to have resisitance. Over all the truck ran and tracked great. since the marines, i've not owned a 4 wheel drive, so iv'e a couple of questions to you all.
1. When i put the truck in 4 wheel drive there is about a 3 second delay and the vehicle kind of 'steps' into 4x4. is this normal?
2. When i accleerate out of 4x4 the tranny seems to slip a bit. may be i'm stepping on it a little hard but i just want to know from some other owners.
3. should the truck be 100% water proof? I mean the be dseems to take some on. all the trucks that i 've checked are damp under the bedliner. i wonder if stuff i store will be protected.
thanks to all

Congratulaions,
1. yes
2. not sure i understand what you mean by accelerate out of 4x4
3. no, it won't be 100%. The stuff on the bed liner stays dry. Read the "water management system" info from the official chevy site. Most of the water under the mat is caused by condensation not leaks.
Welcome to the club!

Summit White is the color. I liked that and the blue then just about anything but red.

What I mean about the slip in 4 wheel drive is... from a stopped position with the vehicle in drive I push on the gas and the tranny seems slip a little bit ( but obviously noticeable).

Dampness under the bed lining is perfectly normal.
One Quick TIP:

1-After washing , dry and apply a coat of wax
2-Do not remove, Leave the wax on.
3.Trow bed liner and ?till next month

I think the slip your are talking about is normal. Watch the 4X4 controler on the dash, it blinks while the trans is shifting in/out of 4 wheel drive .. it takes several seconds for the transformation.

Congrats on your Av, you got quite a deal on the NF ed.
Your questions:
I too have noticed similar problems concerning the 4x4 pause and acceleration.
Concerning water and the mat: Everything should stay dry on top of the mat through rain and washing, but it will be wet under the mat. I decided to just remove the mat since I don't use the bed regularly. This should keep me from seeing any rust, and then I just throw the mat in when I need to.

Congrats on the NF Edition :)

I've washed my AV with stuff in the bed and nothing got wet. All I noticed was condenstion under the mat.
