i have lots of pics, but i am bearly computer literate and some are to big to post, must resize so bear with me. to answer some questions, i painted it myself as i have been painting for over twenty years though only for myself in the last 10 years. cost me around 300 bucks for premium ppg base and clear, lots of sanding to remove texture (thanks for the tips and info alaskav), adhesion promoter, and urethane primer. i removed everything to be painted except the door cladding and the rear bed cladding piece. since mine is an 02 those dry hazy grey bed covers, bumper step pads, and running boards would have stuck out like a sore thumb so i bought a gallon of herculiner and added an original twist to av modding. another original piece is the exhaust tip which is a piece of 3-1/8" schedule 80, 316 stainless pipe that i chuck up in my lathe and polished. cost me nothing but some sweat equity and others are begging me to make them one. just could'nt justify paying as much as 100 bucks for a piece of pipe 15" long. as i stated in the first post, i will take better pics when the sun is out as i had to edit the ones posted because they were too dark, and i will take more detailed pics of the herclined pieces as i did'nt know that the mod would draw any particular interest. oh, and there is no way i dechrome my grille bar, i'm looking for more chrome to balance everything out. searching ebay daily for ext steps also.

I agree with Grey . . . you should paint that crossbar . . . having the Billet Grille and the Chrome bowtie the crossbar being matched to the body will make it sweet.

Sweet AV anyways . . . love the rims . . . any plans to lower it? I see too much wheel well. >:D

Nice Job noalibi, Looks fantastic!

I'd tend to agree with the painted powerbar in your situation. With painted cladding and painted accents, that's the only thing left! (y) ;D

can anyone tell me how to resize pics so that i can post. my pics are 7,900 kb and only 100kb is allowed. what do i do? oh yea......theres no way i'll paint the crossbar, i luv it, more chrome not less---tow hooks, ext steps, door and tailgate handles. either that or i'll incorporate a chrome bar into the side of the boards like i did on my tahoe.

That'll work! Chrome-age is always good. You should check out EnkeiAvalanche's Chrome Fender Flares (yes for cladded Avs). Also check into Chrome Cladding Letters, and Chrome Dome Tailgate letters!

(y) looks good! Awaiting further pics

Most photo programs let you 'resize' your picture and 'save as'
For the web resize 500-600 pixels wide is good.
when 'saving as' often you get to adjust the quality of the pic, lower the quality to get under the 100kb limit I aim for 50-60kb. Also save the pic as a JPG for posting. Only mess with a copy, so you don't foobar the original. Hope this helps at all.

thanks alaska_av, and thanks again to you for all the helpful cladding removal and painting tips. your website was the most helpful for removing any doubts about doing the job. i broke only 3 clips.

pic quality gets crappy real fast when you edit and resize. the pics are beautiful when i download, but after i tweek and post them they get kinda hazy (blurred). maybe it's this dinosaur i'm working with since it is 3 years old :2:

hey what's this karma stuff, i noticed that i have a
+0/-4. i take it the negative is bad so who'd i piss off. i don't get it, i've never had a difference of opinion with anyone here, except on preferences and we all have those----that's what makes us "individuals". :9: :9: :D:
