Well I hope this is what G-man wanted me to do.
Anyone wondering what a 5.3L sounds like with a 40 series Flowmaster here are some video files. :B:

The videos are taken at low quality to keep them small, plus it was windy and overcast. ?My default player is the Sony Real One player. If it doesn't take much work or space I'll try and get some more when it's bright and sunny. (y)

Question, all I get is a broken Quick Time icon. Anyone else have this problem?

I could play the first but that was all. Here is a suggestion for you all. Right click on the link and choose "save target as". Next, select a location on your computer where you will put the files. Once you have saved them all, go to windows explorer and double-click on a file. Instead of playing via Quicktime, it will play the correct way under windows media player. For some reason, it tries to use a quicktime plugin when downloaded via browser.

Now back to to business. Chevylover, thanks a ton for the video/audio demonstration. The truck looks good but sounds AWESOME!

One question, how loud is it inside with the windows up on take-off and at cruising (70-75)?

Jamie

I agree, I have always had problems with Apple s/w and h/w - I think your download idea is best bet.

I managed to open all 4 with the windows media player.....I just made the windows player my default player...this will override all other options set forth by browser configs...etc....

Chevylover....GEEEEZZZ....it seemed like you jumped off the start like a bat out of hell!!!!.....

Sounds sweet fellow flowmaster!!!!

I'm really sorry fellas if I miss lead you....that's not me driving. It's my WIFE!! >:D I knew what I wanted to record so I just gave here the directions and then some hand signals and away she went. Believe me she had the most fun  and wants to know when we'll be doing it again and for her Monte SS. :B:

Great, now how did you do that? :)

:pUhhh...hmm...good question..its been a while....have to get back to you on that one... ;D

Really cool videos.

The way I got the videos to work; was to right click the link and choose "copy shortcut" then opened a new browser windows and pasted the link into the address field then removed the extra / and was able to watch and listen to them.

Gandolphxx, easy fix. Open up your Windows Media Player. Click on the "view" tab. Next, click on Options. From this new menu, choose formats (should be all the way to the right). Simply "check" the formats you want it to be the default player for.

Jamie

I was able to see the first clip ok but all subsequent attempts gave me the broken logo, including the one that worked. The right click/save target method worked fine.

Truck sounds great. I am also curious as to wether or not you have an in-cab resonance problem at certain rpm and engine load conditions.

Yes, the truck sound awesome!
I am also curious about the in-cabin sounds.
The engine/exhaust noise doesn't bother me inside, but is there any 'resonance' or drone at any certain speeds?

The videos worked fine for me.

Ron

Here's an update, tried again from home and no problem. Must be something with Quick Time at work.

Thanks, they were all checked, I just said check all and apply, now it seems to listen to me - sigh :6:

To all asking about the interior noise. Yes there is some noise, a little more than my 50 series put out. At cruising speeds btwn 65-80 it's not that bad. From a stop and cruising around town it sounds real good. I'll try and get some interior clips tomorrow. Bear with me, as soon as I get them I'll get them to gandolphxx and he'll hook it up. Hang in there.

Can I ask where the interior video or sound clips may be?

Love them exterior ones ....thanks a bunch....

I had no problem with the videos. Your truck sounds great. Does your wife let you drive it anymore know that she loves it?

nice!

Must have 40's! >:D

I Must have....

Drank a 40 watchin the 40 vids

Mongo like 40's

hope I don't have to wait till I'm 40 >:D

My wife thinks the old muffler shoud fall off truck first, B 4 replacin it. She don't get the NEED for it.

It took a month of nicking the muffler with a file to get it to fall off while she was in the truck!

She took it back to the dealer and they put another crappy muffler back on under warranty! :7:

Then I awoke in a cold swet, then went outside, crwled under the AV and saw that old piece of c%^ still there.

I WANT A 40 so bad................ >:D

LOVE that dream sequence... (y)

Ya see, all ya have to do is appeal to her "financial sense"! I told the wife... "One thing I'll definitely need to do is to get a different exhaust - it should increase my GAS MILEAGE by at least 2 MPG..."

"...compared to 10 or so, 2 MPG is HUGE...
that is about a 20% increase!"

Needless to say, she LOVES the idea! :D

Tried to add this to the soundclips thread, but dont know how to do it!......AV2500
