Fellow Avalanchers...

My daughter gave me an early Father's Day present (see attached).

It is a folding platform 20" tall, 40" long and 12" wide. It is perfect for washing/drying the roof and windows of the Avalanche.

I knew you would appreciate it.

Rewbob... Daughter's Toes (I didn't notice them when I took the picture)

TexAVfan...

She got it at Home Depot. I guess I hinted enough when she was there with me.

It's a "Gorilla Ladders - Professional Work Platform - Model #WP-20-06". I believe is was about $35.

PaulP...

Thanks for the tip. I might have to "Mod" it with some non-skid tape.

Update...

Just washed the Avy.

The platform worked perfectly.

It was not slippery when wet or maybe I was just cautious after PaulP's post.

Your very lucky
Not only are you an AV owner but you have a sweet daughter
I can't even get my sons to help me wash my AV
Forget them buying me a gift to complete the task.

looks great!! :D

That looks like a good idea. I use therock climbingway, I stand on my assist steps to reach the center of the roof, then for the rear I stand on the top of the tires, I think my neighbors think I'm crazy when they see me climbing all over my AV :2:

LOL, well being 5'3" I stand on the cargo panels and climb on the roof myself. I have a stepladder to wash the hood...

You never really realize how big your truck is til you have to WASH it.

(And under the hood.........FORGET ABOUT IT LOL)

My tires are lucky to get cleaned ;D

Well I just got done washing, clay barring, waxing with several coats and man it looks great. I found out one more reason I like the cladding. It would be a REAL big truck if I had all that extra space to wax.

By the way, I bought one of those little ladders back when this thread was first posted. Man do I like it.

I was in at the local detailing shop the other day and saw them working off of a folding platform made by Werner. The platform was approximately 3'-0" x 5'-0" and made out of plywood covered with non-skid tape. The legs and frame of the platform were aluminum. It was the slickest set-up I've seen seeing as how with the 5'-0" length you could reach the entire roof of the AV without getting down repetively to have to move the platform. I talked to the manager to see where he bought it, and he didn't remember. I've since been to Werner's site and can't find any information there either. Anybody else seen one of these or know where I can find it?
