Here's my AV parked in ITS spot (you can see where I've marked it in the 4th picture :) ). Here comes this Ford SuperDuty with a friggin flatbed that is so friggin big it not only parks in the spot next to me, but it takes a good chunk of MY spot too.

Luckily I was already parked off to the side since I assume he would have stuffed it in there anyway. 50' to it's right is a nice big open parking area where he could have parked and taken 3 or 4 spaces if he liked.

WTF is wrong with people. :8:

I very carefully got in the drivers side, luckily I'm skinny. Drove it down to the gas station to check it out under the lights... looked ok. Came back and he was still there so I parked over in the big open parking area to the right mentioned earlier... where he should have parked at.

As I write this, he's STILL there. Don't know who he is, never seen him before. I can see my AV from where I sit so if he leaves while I'm still up, I'm going to be sure to have a word with him.

:8: :8: :8: :8: :8:

This is the same thing that seems to happen to me all the time when I go out...I don't understand why people feel the need to ride you in a parking space...especially when there is always an abundance of spaces not to far away.....I think they do it because they like to antagonize other folks... :B:

Well, I have a 12" RED Neon tube that's plugged in and lit up that's gonna go somewhere where you can't see it glow if anyone decides to do that again.

Is it wrong to use Neon in an act of violence? >:D

Well...that is all in the eye of the beholder... ;D :B:

RIGHT after I hit POST on the post that suggested using a tube of Neon in an act of violence, I saw him walk out to his truck. I headed out the door after him (I live on the 3rd floor) but by the time I got half way down the stairs he was gone.

Moved the AV is back in ITS spot and all is well.

Good to go....possession is 9/10 of the law... ;D :B:

Is this common in NJ too? NJ was more densely populated but people overall seemed to have more of a clue than the people here in FL.

I didn't have any problems in my week in NJ, just got a few weird looks from people when I was out there cleaning my AV.

Not sure if I'll ever get used to those signs that say "Left Turn" with an arrow pointing to the right.

I can't speak for the entire state, but here in the Newark area...it seems to be a trend...like most people I guess would see it as ...."this guy thinks he is too good to park with the rest of us" deal.....so they try to purposely...put a damper on your day.....

Man...sorry I missed you that week you came through...could have grabbed a cup of coffee... (y) :B:

There's plenty of time, I'll be living in NJ within the next 30-60 days if all goes well. :)

That happens here too... I'll park way at the back of the parking lot and I'll get someone parked next to me. But it's very rare that I ever get someone THAT close to me.

Anymore when I park out in the middle of nowhere I double-park. With 90 open parking spots around you no cop in his right mind would give you a ticket. And even if they did, you could fight it and win in court.

Sweet..are you going to be living around this way?.... :B:

Greater Edison area... far enough away from the Edison tower so it doesn't hit me when it falls. :)

I could always use another AV to help me move. >:D >:D

David

I hate those jerks. :7: One of them managed to drag his mirror down the side of my beloved AV when pulling out. :8:

Had I been there I probably would be in prison right now.

I saw some window stickers for sale many years ago. They were bright orange and very hard to remove. They were designed to place on the window of the offending vehicle. It said something like "Thank you for parking like and a$$" or something like that.

LOL That would be too funny(The window stickers)

I remember when I was younger and would go to the store with my dad, he always told me that if by the time you got to the store, you weren't out of breath, you parked to close. ;D

All my friends hate it when I drive, We're parked all the way out in timbucktoo. and You know every now and then somebody has to park right next to it anyway. :7:

I would like some of those. >:D

He's at it again. I just took the garbage out and he's parked right between a Mustang GT and a Ford Lightning. The couple that owns them drag races them at the local drag strip and they've got a fair amount of money invested in them. He's even closer to the Mustang on his drivers side than he was to me.

They are gonna beat his ass if they see him parked like that.

I hope he's not a new neighbor.

Way back in my days of youth, we had a guy in high school who was a jerk with his '67 Camero. My friends and I finally had enough one day so we waited until he went in to school on a friday morning. I think it was the day of a big football game or homecoming. Something big back in gthe high schol days.

Anyway, 3 of us got back by the rear bumper and lifted as 2 of our friends wedged cinder blocks under the rear axel. When we set it back down, the rear wheels rested about a quarter inch off the ground.

When school let out for the event, he tried to drive off impressing the girls. Nothing. He just sat there spinning his wheels. We were rolling as he checked out under the hood. I didn't hang around long enough to watch him figure it out or look for who did it.

This prank was used at least a dozen times on different people we wanted to mess with back then. I bet it still would work today. Bonus is there is no harm actually done so if you are caught, no money out of your pocket to fix it.

I get meatheads all the time here in central/south Jersey that insist on keeping me company when I park far away from the building. This is especially true in Wal-Mart and that type of store. I just don't understand these people. And it is usually someone in a vehicle that is not special or new in any way, sometimes even a clunker. And this happens in my Av and my Grand Am. They must think to themselves "ooohh, that guy knows something we don't - we better park right next to him because it must be a special place to park".

I guess it is similar to the bozos on the interstate who go real slow in the middle lane, so you move over to the left lane to pass, and then they speed up so you can't pass them. Going slow was perfectly fine for them until they realized some one was trying to pass.
