Does anyone have any new results on these products:  forever black, mar-hyde dye, krylon fusion or plastickote?  I have been reading the other threads and I have seen some awesome pics using forever black and Rocket's truck using Mar-hyde dye.  These are inexpensive products that seem to work, and I wanted to hear from ya'll out there how they are holding up.

forever  black is not paint but a detailing product.. see threads in detailing section...

what do you want them for?  cladding? use Gatorback...

The dye didn't work for me. I was able to scratch it off with a finger nail. I've since had the Gatorback done and it's 1000x's better. Not to say that doesn't scratch but it's much harder to do.

Thanks for replying fellas.  I have an 03 AV. and I thought I read that using gatorback "black" would not make much of a difference for my 03.  I am looking for something that would turn the cladding to black.

check the pics as gatorback black is well... pretty black inthe pics....

I went from the '02 light grey to black...

Somebody..I forgot who....just put a thread up from where they painted the lower front valance with "Bumper Paint" that they bought at Sherwin-Williams..it turned out really black and nice..darker than GatorBLACK..but I am not sure if it will hold up to scratches as well as GatorBLACK, but the bumper paint looked great to me.

Forever black is definitely not forever. It looks good at first but needs to be reapplied about ever 2-3 months depending on driving conditions and how often you wash your vehicle.  I haven't done mine in about 9 months and it looks horrible.

the armor dillo they did on mine lasted about 3 months on my cargo covers and sail panels, it did last much longer on the storage box lids. I've read that multiple applications will increase it's longevity

Theres always this

Just in case the gatorback plastic coating can't be applied under warranty...... it's only $15.

You can still get Armor-dillo if you want it.? I had a few wipes laying around so I used it on my cargo and sail panels and it looks great.? I you are going to put something on the cladding every couple of months then you mights as well use this.? You can get it in a can now instead of the wipes.? Goes on very easy.

The armor-dillo (TS-1)and gatorback is the best route for me now.  I don't think there will much change in color if I paid for the gator back coating that everyone is paying for.  My AV's cladding is not fading at all now and I have had it since 2003.  I just want it to be darker so that it matches the onyx black body.
none the less, thanks for the info

does it spray on like aersol or like a regular spray bottle

You just wipe it on and wipe over it with a damp cloth in order for it to cure.? If you are going to apply a dressing every couple of months then the Armor-Dillo is a good alternative.? It gives it a semi-glossy look and won't run like some of the dressings that others use.  My AV is black too.

do you have any pics with the armor-dillo applied

Armo Dillo will not change the color much more then applying a tire shine or 303 type product...

if you want it black then you have to either bite the bullet and paint it..

or gatorback it...

IMO

I thought that gatorback won't change the color very much on a 03 Avalanche.

The black is very close to the dark grey, you won't see a significant color change.

And the product you were asking where to find - as with all Gatorback items - www.gatorbackcoatings.com
