Ok, seems while my AV has done well with parking and other cars and their owners swinging doors wide, I lost a minor battle with a rolling shopping cart ( mini shopping cart ). One rolled under my tail gate while the gate was down, and left a tiny bruise ( spot ) and a tiny streak ( small line ).

The spot looks like the paint was crushed in that part.

It doesn't look like I can buff it out ( I might, never know ), however I'm not familiar with the clear coat, and not sure what the actual damage is. It's a tiny tiny spot, however it bothers me when I'm driving as I have visions of the paint starting to chip off. It's all probably just because I know it's there that it's bothering me, however, would touch up paint be recommended, or should I try something else to fix this?

I will try and take a picture tomorrow, but not sure how well it will come out.

Thanks.

I can understand you woes... but there are solutions.

if you do a search on paint touchup you can find several good threads and here is a supplier that can help paintscratch.com

Hope this helps :D

one thing that the body shop at the dealer told me... if you run the tip of your finger across it, and it catches your finger nail... it cannot be buffed out....

not sure exactly what you are dealing with, so I do not know if what I said applies... hope it does in one way shape or form...

Other reason to love the Cladding ;D ;D serious though here in baltimore most places offer free estimates...go for it and see how much they would charge.
Also if you`re still coming on sunday we`ll all take a look at it and offer ya a opinion...i`m sure

Without seeing here is simple rule....if you can feel it then painting is required....if you cannot feel it then polsihing will help....

Also here are some existing threads on the subject:

This first one deals with polishing out swirls & scratches etc

Sadly, I can feel it ( maybe it's still mental :) ).
The WBH has cladding on the back, and unfortunatly, it was above the cladding.
I'll check the threads posted.
Thanks for the Info.
