So before anyone yells at me.. i already attempted this: http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?topic=66071.0 but couldn't for the life of me.

I want to install Anzo projector headlights, but want to install them 'properly'.  Does anyone have install directions on how to remove the front bumper facia with pics?

They are real close to what I have... But sorry to tell ya, the bumper has nothing to do with your install.

Turn your wheels all the way to the left.
Look at your lights and look at your stock lights and remove those bolts.
Now undo the screws and plugs along your wheel well covers and bend back some so you can get to the rear bracket of headlights and unscrew those as well.
Now everything should be ready to pull out your headlights, be careful and take your time as this part really sucks.
As for the rest, just follow your directions for what bulb goes where.

Good Luck!

There is a picture thread on here some where for this... I will look and try and post it.

Hey AVnFun - I thought they looked kinda (hey, it's in the dictionary!) like yours.   (y)

dyshuk , I'm not sure why can't get the headlights out using that thread.   ???  Did you read through all the pages because there are several other photos inserted in there that may help explain how to do it.

From the photo you put in it looks like the brackets are in the same locations as stock lights.  Maybe you'll need another GTG to install them.  I've only done the ambers install on two '08's, (mine using this method which is the long way, the second with a shortcut) Looks to me like this install should take about an hour using the long method from the link.

I guess the bottom line is: Where are you stuck with this mod?  Removing the stock lights, or installing the new ones?

I actually don't have the lights yet... I ordered them today from Stylin' Trucks.

When putting in my ambers I tried to remove the headlights totally, because I knew I would eventually replace them with the projector headlights.  I'm having problems getting the stock lights out, it seems the front bumper fascia is getting in the way of the bottom on the lights.  I D K  ???

I was being really careful not to scratch of bend the fiberglass bumper... When I get them I'll try again, and of course take pics of the install.

Either way, thanks for the help!  This site has been more than a help for all my questions.

The lip on the bottom of the light does create a small issue during removal.
Two options:
1: Just put a towel down to help prevent scratching the bumper area. I have removed 2007 lights several times with no issue.

2: If you remove the clips across the top of the fan shroud and the couple screws that secure the upper (grill area) of the front end, this will allow the whole front to pull forward about two inches and the angle will drop about one inch.  This will give you the extra clearance you need without having to remove the entire front end.

Hope this helps

I agree with Tango, and the only difference was I used was cardboard and painters tape on the bumper instead of a towel.  (see the photos on page 6 of the above mentioned thread)

Gotta see the pix when you get the lights!           Good luck with the install!   (y)
I like AvnFun's setup, but will be in the doghouse if I order anything else.

speaking of lights......................  >:D  I took off the bull bar and re-mounted the PIA's

Looks nice Tango  (y)

....so whatcha gonna do with your bullbar...  If you're looking for a good home for it, or better yet, a Deep Ruby Metallic '08 AV to show it off... >:D

I need to use the mounting brackets as a template for a mount for the above pic.  The lights are good like that but too much vibration for me.  Once I'm done ( a week, month couple months?) I'll let you know.

dyshuk,

I got the same headlights you are getting, only in black. I followed Mongo Rangers instructions step by step (Thank you very much, MR), and although it was a little tricky, I got it done without removing the whole front, you just have to take your time.
If you get them in, let me know how you like them. I'm not 100% happy with them, the light output seems uneven to me, but maybe thats a characteristic of projectors. They look really cool though  (y)

Today, I finally got my ambers in.
I don't think, I have enough posts yet to post pics, so I just give you a link to my photo album.

http://rides.webshots.com/album/566081847ZwOjGT?vhost=rides (pics of the new lights on page 4 and 5)

Don't give up and good luck. It is possible.

T-800, I took a pix from your album to show on here. Just click on the pix in your album you want, go to the box on the lower right that says "Post in a Forum", copy and paste that code in the reply box and the pix comes up. Use the quote feature on this post and in the reply box you'll see what the code looks like once you paste it in here. (y)

Nice lights BTW (y)

so i got the lights off... again WTF was GM thinking? :E:

i used the 'towel' to protect the fiberglass from getting scratched when removing the old headlight and only broke one tab off the passenger light, i must say thank god that it's fiberglass and not sheet metal because

neways... took me about an hour and a half start to finish

sorry no pics for now, but i didn't hook up the halo or LEDS as i got lazy... i'll be doing that tomorrow, and post pics

and as far as the light output goes... the driver side is awesome...  passenger side... i might have to get aimed or something....

Hey T-800 and dyshuk, you will definitely have to get used to the light output. They do seem uneven even after I had the aligned to meet Va state inspection. Thank god FL doesn't have inspections.

Someone please post a full size pic of these when your all done..

I bought mine on ebay. The original price was $236, but after a ebay 10% off coupon and msn live.com 30% cash back they were $148 with free shipping.

i bought mine from Stylin' Trucks... ($350  :()  they don't list them on their website but they do list other Anzo headlights so I called them up and within minutes they called Anzo and shipped directly from them...

well...  after about two days of pretending i liked the light output i really had no other choice but to put my stock lights back in

it's wasn't an aiming issue either cause i've aimed plenty of lights in my day, and that didn't help

both lights output were angled...

see pic i drew haha...  anyone has a similar result?

maybe i'll go HID ( although scared cause there are so many brands / tough to get real reviews )

Yep, that's pretty much what mine looks like, but I got used to it now. What's more "unusual" to me is, that the projectors send a beam of light out. The light is not evenly distributed on the street, I'm looking at the two light beams from the projectors.
But, like I said before: I like them and they look cool
